Nice! I'm beginning to think you like building stuff more than you like riding stuff....

speaking of building stuff. I hope your closer to a BMW dealer than I, cause the dealership i purchased mine from just closed up by silver springs road. Time to start 'building my own BMW service tool inventory" cause not sure how my service will be at any of the dealers near me.

Nope. I'm in Pewaukee, so Schlossmans was my dealer too. Not sure what I'm going to do now. The only other BMW dealer I know is in Appleton...

My next build....2017 zero miles, $3,995 plus the usual stuff...had a choice of a new 2018 also but the engine had been split to do the recall...no difference between the two years so I went with the 2017 that was not subject to the recall...I like a fresh factory unit that has not been touched (re the engine completely torn apart to do the 2018 recall)...plus I like red...gonna be fun.

Got about 70 miles on the Rally today...overall impression...the little thing is a brilliant piece of kit...typical Honda fit and finish...smooth...light feeling...the attention to detail with the fasteners, wire routing, and simplicity of design is great...foot pegs could be a bit lower for me as I have a 34 inch inseam...windshield is fine...need bigger grips and will be solved with Oxford heated grips...seat, ok but a Sargent is on the list...s small aluminum rear rack with a Rotopax mount will add a bit of security with the fuel capacity...all good...so far.

FINALLY....something with TWO wheels and a chain! I was beginning to worry we'd lost Tim to the dark side....

2018 had a cir clip on the main transmission shaft that may come loose and destroy the transmission...dealer has to pull the motor, split the cases, and install a new shaft and cir clip.

Couple of years ago, a dad and his two sons did the TAT on a regular CRF 250, a Rally and an Africa Twin. They made great videos of the trip. The 250's faired much better than the AT.

    Looking forward to this build.

I’ve been away for a while healing up from a crash where an ATV slammed into me totaling my 09 R1200GS. Ribs are still sore and knees are tender from the road rash. My replacement bike is a new to me 2014 KTM 1190 Adventure R with only 12000 miles and farkled by previous owner just the way I would have done it for half the total cost. I’m hoping to get out to 3step in late September/early October with plans of touring the area of the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Does Scott have spare fuel pumps for KTMs laying around...?

Very nice! And yes Scott usually keeps at least a dozen fuel pumps for every model of KTM. He also keeps half a dozen final drives for 1200 GS’ s too :lol3
