Tim, I'd like to meet up w/the heard at some point in time. Just pulled the trigger on a 15 NC700x w/less than 2k miles. Will start farkling asap. Still have my Super Sherpa for the offroad stuff. Enjoying your build threads& will probably use your examples on several addons. Hope ya have a good holiday.

Tim, as the Blues Brothers said, we are putting the band back together. Me, Ray, John and Scott will rendezvous with you at the D2D. We are adjusting schedules accordingly. See you in Dawson City

Howdy @Tewster2 ! New to the whole Moab Utah (area) riding but have wanted to visit 3 step hideaway for awhile now. Sounds like you’ll be there most of May? I’ ve got 21 days off in May and kickin’ around the thought of heading that way. Any input to help me get more pysched about it would be great! Thanks!

OMG, I fell in love with a new motorcycle...I haven’t been this obsessed in years. I feel it may be a bit too big/heavy for Moab...but I’m sure it could take the Shaffer Switchbacks, White Rim, and maybe Onion Creek??? What do you guys think?

If I'm going to go small, light and nimble, I would go for that Husky TE250...but my DRZ 400 is my "dirtbike" for now...but that Triumph looks like it would not just handle, but actually be fun on the mild stuff, and would be a great minimalist tourer for Alaskan trips.

It took us two days to get to tuk with an overnight in Eagle Plains due to weather. On the way back it took us one day from Inuvik to Dawson City. When its wet, it is a bitch - When dry....you can fly! tuk2018.jpeg

Looking forward to meeting you, our paths will cross at 3 Step.
My plan is to leave Tampa on the evening of 2 May and stay in Moab from 5 - 10 May. I will move onto 3 Step for a week or so after that.

While trailering the DRZ to Moab from Milwaukee, once there the truck will hardly move. Right now the bike is stripped and knobbied out for doing day rides in and around Moab from a homebase being 3 Step Hideaway. But I know I may want to venture off predominantly southwest for a 2-3 day motorcycle camping trip. I've got racks and bags for the DRZ and gear for tent camping...or I could motel it for 2 nights? I'll have the racks and bags with and can install, or just go minimal. How are the motel availabilities and average rates away from Moab in the first two weeks of May? Thanks.

I've found motels around Moab anytime there's not two feet of snow on the ground to be super expensive...Moab is the off-road capital of the world and fills up starting early spring. I have a whole database of free or almost free camping areas around Moab...I'll get with you in May.

Here are two apps that are good...

I'll be at 3 step 5/1, but booked a room at The Rustic Inn on 4/29. I got a $137 rate, but you could find cheaper places farther out possibly. I wanted to stage near Arches for an early start (and shower :D) exploring the park and camping at Devil's garden the next night. Can't wait for spring!!!!
