The Circus is on the road
I hope the circus has a great ride and great Adventure. Was planning on riding along for a day from Rockys but work wouldn’t allow this time. Maybe on the way home. For now I just be following along with the ride report, thanks for taking us along.
My realtor called...may have a contract coming on my mt home. If so, Fedex will deliver closing papers to Fairbanks for me to sign when I get in town on the 25th of next month...when it rains it pours...I’m trying to get away from all this stuff and just ride...oh well if it goes well I’ll have enough to buy my new Grom
I take it back...after a nice night here at the motel I have to say it’s very good. Got up around 5 am...went to the lobby and the smell of GOOD coffee was there. The breakfast area is spotless and everything is fresh. If you’re coming across OK...

I've always been afraid of those. I always envision sliding into bed and getting stuck by a needle. Maybe I'll give them a chance. I'll tear the bed down for a good inspection first.
Yes... I always ask for a non smoking room and check the bed for bugs...all good here...plus the room smelled good. Owned by a Patel and I was pleasantly surprised as I usually stay in cheap places that are not that good. There is a big difference in some of them...this was on par with a nice Ramada or Holiday Inn
I would stay an extra night in whatever hotel at whatever location and have the fax the contract to the hotel, as soon as the contract was signed.
When I sold my house it was all done remotely and by PDF. NO FEDEX, no fax. Just done digitally
I’m in, thanks for taking us along. I really enjoyed reading your last years ride, and I am looking forward to your thoughts and experiences on a long distance ride with “Pearl”.
I also noticed you woke up the young buck from Colorado, with the “Free Pie” sign (Ha, Ha).
Safe travels, and to quote Mr. Mayheim, “Pie for strength”.
Good luck on your trip, Tim. There's a good chance we'll run into each other at some point up north.
Yes sir, excatemondo..
This is called foreshadowing.
In the dark and cold winter of 2018, i predict a Tewster Grom build thread, and in 2019 a "Tewster rides a small Grom to AK" thread.
safe travels Tim and to the rest of the crew...
I think I’ve got it all set up. If the deal goes through we won’t close until next month. Agent said we can do it either way. All good
Seems to be working for everyone else. Did you go to the link I posted on the first page?
Probably not, I'll try to find it. Claus
That helped, thanx. Ride safe my friend. Claus
Hi Tim, My son Andreas just turned 8 and wishes you a safe trip to Alaska and back.
I've got the same iPad and agree it has a few things that are not as functional as a lap top, but I REALLY like how small and powerful it is. If you have fat fingers like I do typing on it can be a PITA but you can just use the voice recognition option and speak your messages into a text or post (punch the microphone button on the key pad, just like with a smart phone, and blather away). It works pretty darned well but be careful and always proof-read before you hit send or post, ha ha!
I hope the sale goes through! Congrats, that's always a load off your mind.
I love the digital paperwork world... I used to have to travel to an office 5 days a week and wasted huge amounts of time commuting, now I check in one day a week and am able to work from home as effectively as I ever did when I worked in an office setting. I don't remember the last time I handled a piece of paper; you can even scribble notes in the margins as you work on stuff. My company doesn't even accept paper copies of anything any longer, it's all digital in and out, signatures, permanent files, etc. We don't even have a fax machine any longer. All this innovation allows me to spend more time on AdvRider living vicariously through people like Twester2.
Safe travels, hope you can get out of the truck and onto the bike soon!
I've got 9k on mine from the Alaska trip last year and I could go another 2 or 3k. They are great.
Tim, wishing y'all a safe& fun run this year. Hopefully in the near future I will be able to join ya on one of these epic rides. Retiring end of this year& if ya get that Grom I will be able to keep up with ya on my Super Sherpa! Most of all you really deserve to kick back, & steer the heard from the rear. You've given up countless hours of your rest& downtime on prior trips editing& dealing w/ updates. Enjoy my friend!
But Tim does such good updates and the videos are great. I really liked the 2016 videos.
