Check out Red River Motorcycle trails in Bulcher or Barnwell Mountain in Gilmer. I live in East Texas and I can almost make it to Shreveport on dirt roads. I have found some great roads out this way..

How difficult is red river motorcycle trails for a beginner level dirt rider? I want to check it out, but don’t want to drive a few hours just to find out it is wayyy too advanced.

What bike would you be on? You might be better suited going Gilmer because they have a lot of jeep trails whereas Red River can get pretty tough especially if you don't know the place. Red River wouldn't be much fun to me on my 1290. On my 300 its a total hoot. If you like cool roads let me know if you want to take a ride in east Texas. I stay off major highways and out of DFW.

I've been trying to find a series of trails that go across Texas and Louisiana so I can make a nice trip across, go up the Rockies trail and head back east on the tat

I’m from the Texas panhandle. It’s where I used to ride dirt as a kid. I think the Canadian River up there has better trail riding then most people would realize.

Very Nice! My buddy rides one and I like it. Much more dirt worthy than my 1290! Sunday is going to be 78 and I think I'm going to get out on the 1290!

Not sure. My buddy has a place at Cedar Creek lake and we are going to just go out exploring. If I was in Greenville I would. Your more than welcome to join.

Depending on the timing, I'd be interested in Big Bend Again. PM when you have some dates.

11 of us DS riders had a great ride today on the unpaved roads of Jack county. 110 miles and all kind of wild life...no I'm not talking about the riders...

I would be interested in this ride. I went last year in May, weather was decent at night in Chisos Camp Grounds, but already starting to get rather hot in the desert during the day (upper 90's). Please PM me if dates get settled.
