Cool! Let's all stay in touch. I was there last March and I think it's the best time for ride there. PERFECT WEATHER!!

Red River is no place for an ADV bike bigger than a FE501. I ride a CRF450 at RR, and that almost too big some of the trails, esp like back in "Bills Woods".
There are times where I wish I had a 150/200/250 cc max.

I am following this thread, hopefully y'all won't mind a Louisianan joining the ride.

    Howdy fellow Texans,
I just picked up my first KTM, a slightly used 2018 500 exc-f with 700 miles on it. It’s basically stock with the exception of an Akrapovic slip on that the PO put on. Mods will be forthcoming.
I’m located in the Hill Country about an hour NW of Austin and will be looking forward to doing the TAT (or portions of) at some point before I can’t...
I would really like to find some trail riding near by (or not) to get dialed in.

    Merry Christmas to all !

Anybody tried Crossbar Ranch up in Oklahoma? It’s about 2 hours from me in Fort Worth.

Head out to Barnwell Mountain. Stay on the roads and off the single track unless you're good. Map out some good east texas roads over and it will give you all you want.

Thanks, I’m close by the park, I 4 wheel there occasionally but not the best place for my type of bike. Those rocks will hurt ya...

Ohhh, interesting. I haven’t been but assumed it was ideal for the 500 exc-f. If that’s not good, what is good?

I’m actually planning on taking my GSA on the easier routes after some feedback from another group that went with the big bikes. I might reconsider.

Just seeing this thread. I'm in Montgomery and have been riding off road for about a year now. Looking forward future rides.

Not sure I'm at the right thread but can any of you recommend a Trials course in North Texas and Central Tejas?

recently moved to DFW/Richardson area, looking for "adventure" type rides in the area. Also need to find good shops around here, if anyone knows some. Thanks in advance!

All the Japan inc dealers I've been to are pretty much equally useless. You are going to head north and east to find decent riding, but it won't be great until you get to Clayton OK and head over to Mena AR.

Head up to Red River and it will give you all you can handle. Something closer would be Bridgeport. There is actually an event there next weekend. NTTA on facebook.

You can head east for some great dirt/gravel roads and some really nice off the beaten path roads. I used live in Richardson and now in Grenville. I can be on a dirt road in 200 yards from my driveway.

im in Addison. Adventure Moto in McKinney is good...red river and Bridgeport are decent parks. I’m headed to big bend with the crew in March. Always room for one more.
