Regarding HF, I think the trails are great, well marked, and you just need to look both ways when crossing a jeep road. The rocky areas are challenging for sure, but challenge is what I seek. No offroad sticker required and you can camp near the trailheads. People there are awesome too. What more could you want?

I think of all the areas discussed so far you'd like Barnwell best as mentioned above it has close to 30 miles of single track and some pretty gnar sections if you want to do them od you can bypass them by staying with yellow markers
    It's a cool place with bathrooms/ showers

A couple of us are headed to Barnwell Friday. If you're a decent rider even the red trails are pretty easy. 30 plus miles of single track is arguably the best we have in Texas. Red River is awesome but they only have Bill's Woods that's exclusive single track. If you know your way around Red River its got more extreme enduro trails. Both are great. Barnwell can handle much more rain than Red River. We are lucky to have both of these places.

Texas Motorized Trails Coalition has just given formal notice that both Barnwell and Ozona have been closed until further notice due to COVID-19.
