Just posted on Farcebook, so I can't vouch for its authenticity.....1400 euro :eekers

Some good info for GS GSA 2017+ owners. The TFT display is now retrofit part. you can order it just for 1400e plus 3pcs clips 5euro. and whoa la you have it. NOTE it will only work with GS and GSA with X6ABA wiring system.

Older bike have old gen wiring sow theoretically you can swap all wiring and it may work. All units remain same on swap. Hope this will help!!!

Cool. So X6ABA bikes are those with the car style OBD2 diagnostic ports? I assume the TFT would require dealer coding??

From past bikes I know you have to have the dealer code any replacement cluster as the mileage has to be "paired" withe the ECU

Mine works fine. BUT, no it isn't worth 1400 euro, that's for sure..

Is it an OEM part, or an aftermarket part that looks similar to the TFT screen? Either way, can't imagine any benefit worth 1400 Euro.

The left switch-gear comes with the retrofit kit.

This kit has been available to dealers in the UK since early Feb when BMW started a promo for a free TFT upgrade, the dealers installed the TFT on GS's sold that didn't come from the factory with the option and knocked off the price of the option for the bikes that came with them.

Looks like a trap for the addictively "farkel-needy" perhaps?

Well have you seen one lite up? They are stunning!

I don't know about a trap for farkel needy, but it is enticing. I mean guys pay 2K+ for full exhaust systems to gain 2HP, and to their ear, better sound.

This has more worth to ME then a exhaust, but that is why we are all different and the world is not boring.

That said with the issues that guys seem to be having, although a software update is supposed to be helping that issue, it does not interest me in the least Just as I could do without keyless start, I can do without the TFT.

However, If in a few years the price comes down and the issues subside, I would probably bite.

Out of interest I did some research on the TFT retro-fit. You'd need to reprogram the bike, however my dealer said they cannot currently do this. It would also only possible on bikes >2017 with X6ABA (these have the car type OBD2 connector). Parts, you'd need the screen ($1000 euro on KFM) and update switch gear (black, not grey...$400 euro). TBH, I prefer the analogue style other than the speedo is tricky to read, even on my revised 2017 model.

With my Nav V I cant see everything so from the get go this could be a step up. However I have an old/inferior 2015 so I’m apparently not worthy of consideration.

I use my GPS for my speed etc. It's what I'm used to and although the TFT looks very nice I'm not looking to change.

This might work out better for someone who's about to spend $900 for Nav 6. Just add few more hundred now you have TFT that you can use your smart phone as GPS among few other positive features.

I have an inquiry in with my dealer. I would do the kit if available. I have a 2017.5. But I’m the type that loves electronic gizmos.
