Just curious, has anyone ridden this part of Asia? (i.e. eastern China, Tibet, perhaps Nepal, etc). I will be going from Thailand to Mongolia this spring/summer and am evaluating the option of doing this on a bike. :evil

No one else would happen to be riding in the area now, would they?

Moon rover....it is possible to ride a bike in China but very expensive and time consuming, if you go via Pakistan/ Kyrgystan the caravan cafe in Kashgar can organise permits if needed. note you cannot take a bike of more than 175cc or something into Vietnam. Your best bet as posted earlier is to get onto the Horizons unlimited web site and trawl through the posts on the bulletin board. Lots of China info.
