I am blown away by how many people are responding positively to the Poll. Inmates are definitely headed North!

I'm really excited to see the opening of this road. I'm making tentative plans to head up that way in a couple of years. Prudhoe Bay has always been on my list, but it's strictly an oil community. I'll be curious to see an existing indigenous town on the Arctic. Probably by the time I get there, there will be some infrastructure for tourists. I've been checking the AirBnB site to see if any residents have put up a room for rent. Nothing yet.

Trust me Jamie, take the Dempster! The Dalton is 18-wheeler central and then when you get to the end of it, rather than a precious little village, there's an oil company.

Unfortunately, you're probably right. As soon as the road gets built, the franchises start opening.

I think this may have been possible. Somewhere on 'the internet' a while back I read that like many road construction projects it was possible and some had slipped around the barriers and ridden the uncompleted but passable construction to Tuk. Internet rumors of course but seems plausible? I know I have ridden around a few construction barriers on a dirt bike without serious problems.

Would also be plausible that the RCMP would have ticketed his ass.

Agreed. I have a friend who just rode from Tok, with an 'o' to Yaviza on his way to Ushuaia. Him, his wife and daughter on a 800GS with sidecar. Guy's got ... Hey, when are you guys (Butler) going to make a map of the Dempster? ;-) And of course, if you feel the urge to support the Thanks Tuk! campaign... :-)

BC is on the list for sure. Not sure how the Yukon & NWT play into that?
    I'll pass it along...great idea!

The Dempster is on the Alaska G1 map all the way to Inuvik.
I'm lookin' at it right now. I had to "Sharpie" in the new road to Tuktoyyaktuk.
It's one of the maps I'm taking with me this year.

That same "Alaska" map takes you South in Western BC all the way to the USA as a bonus.

@BigDogAdventures , we are taking almost the exact same route you are, the only exception I can see is that when we get to Glennallen, AK, we are riding down to McCarthy, and back. Otherwise, we will be following all those directional arrows on YOUR map. :-)

Actually all those heavy black lines with arrows on them are roads and places I've all ready ridden---------and will try to avoid this trip so as to go to new places. I put them on that map for reference. But avoiding them all will be impossible of course. My route that I will take will be made as I ride----winging it.
The highest pass in Canada I was wanting to go over doesn't open till June 15th----dang it. Might hit it on the way back--------never been over it.

There are a couple other heavy black lines that are borders. But most of them are roads I've ridden.
