This baby of mine was quite rare - KTM only built it for 2 yrs. My 2004 200SX back in the days.... ...w/ just a set of handguards, it makes an awesome woods weapon... ... even my sonny boy had a go at it...
Mine is showing 170psi. I've come to the conclusion that that is good 'nuf for me. Half of me wants to try to fit a new top-end to it in the name of "preventative maintenance". The other half of me says I have things that are actually broken that need attention first. When jetted per the book the thing starts and runs well. Starts if you even look at the kicker cross eyed. Love this bike.
What a couple of fantastic bikes...it would be really cool to reclothe my '02 200 exc in blue ala Penton...are blue body panels still available? Much thanks for posting your bikes, Grant
Originally a 1978 500 twin street bike, drag raced it for years, morphed into a dualsport by adding YZ250 suspension/wheels/brakes,and then swapped out the 4 stroke twin for the hotted up Blaster motor. Exhaust pipe is actually for an RD350 right side.
Hey Guys, I've been meaning to post and seem to screw up these pics so lets see if I can do it this time. and a ride this past weekend in Nova Scotia...five hours in the woods with guys who are a lot faster than me...LOL! Wicked ride though. I really need to take more pics...Grant
....and one more of our ride on the weekend...a great bunch of guys who don't mind waiting for the slow guy as long as he doesn't break down or fall off a whole lot...LOL...I make sure the bike works every ride....the falling off part I am working on! I am the one in the back pouring sweat out of my helmet...what a great ride!
for sure....I have been considering a 300 but the 200 is truly all I need and then some...plus its light as heck. this considering process has been going on for a couple of years now...lol. The button and being able to blue plate a 300 would be great for sure not to mention the added power and lugging ability on big hills but everywhere else the bike is awesome...the rider could do with more quality seat time for sure!
Loving all the 200's!! If you ask me, the 200 is the perfect size for the woods. My 2000 KTM 200 EXC is my favorite. It's light and nimble, yet powerful like gorilla. It's never met a hill that it couldn't climb! And it's been very reliable and low maintenance as well.. Love this bike. Every Spring I tell myself I'll get a newer one, but this one is set up exactly how I like it and I can never find a good reason to get rid of it. Once of these days maybe!! Oh, and it has a street plate too! Here's a picture of it in the woods a few miles from home. I brappp through town, three miles later I'm in the forest becoming one with nature. :)
My "almost a 200" husky. It is a 125 bored/stroked to 177cc And my back up KX125 that will get a kdx swap done at some point in time (still runs great)
