Not a lot of pictures today. We had some delays. Had to find a bank in Prince George that would convert US $ to CAN. Most will only do it if you have an account with them.

Augie, to answer your question, hope to make Hyder tomorrow.

Moe was going to take a different route but weather looked better this way. And he is concerned for me. So we will probably ride together a couple three more days.

He had his headlight fail today. After we got that fixed and got back going the rain hit us. Actually we just got done before the pitter patter commenced.

We are in a cabin of a motel in Topley, BC. We were about to ride into a real mess........

It seems that time becomes more of an abstract notion.

Youre going to be seeing some gorgeous country once past Kitwanga. If I remember correctly the bridge you will be going over will be one you want to take a picture through. Janet couldntget out of the car, she was so afraid. Moricetown is also a great place to stop at, if there is any fishing (gaffing)
    going on.

The cafe next to our motel opens late on Saturday so we had a leisurely start. Views from the motel

Do you see that blue sky? Gonna be a good day.

Fixing to leave the cafe. The blue van belongs to a wonderful couple from Vancouver Island. Talkers.....

Moe has been up here several times. He was really excited we had such beautiful weather, not an everyday event.

We are staying at the Prince Edward Hotel in Stewart, BC tonight. It is cold and rainy. Will cross over to Hyder, AK in the morning. Then Opa will have officially touched all 54 50 states. Then we will try to get to higher ground, and perhaps escape the rain. But from all I hear, we have had a remarkable ride in fine weather with blue skies most of today.

A few from yesterday. We went from Stewart, BC up through Hyder, AK to Salmon Glacier, said to be the fifth largest glacier in AK & Canada

    On the way to Hyder

    Welcome to Alaska

    Fun with words

Didn't make it quite all the way to the top. We have climbed from sea level to around 4000'

The man on the left is from Germany, the gal from Sweden. His dog is a hunter; for boar. The yellow sign says beware of dog. Moe was fast friends....

Got their names, but that was then.....

Back in Hyder we went to the Bus. Lady on the right, Diana, serves fish that her husband catches. We were a day early. Lady on the left is her friend Vivian

Back in Stewart at the Temptation Bakery. We had breakfast there, then a sandwich now. Lady on the left is Dave's wife (sorry, I can't remember everyone's names) Dave has his back to us. Along with their daughter Patricia they run this place. Good food, great baked goods.

On Sundays Patricia sings in the park several times. Here Moe and Patricia are doing 'Me and Bobby McGee' in front of the bakery.

Moe was jazzed to have a guitar in his hands. Says after riding he needs to loosen up his fingers.
