Er, other stuff on parts. Right now we can get everything. Some of us have spares. Lots of parts are not Alta specific.
If you break it big time, well, there you are. altaownerforum.com rocks
I ride regularly with dudes who worked for Alta, so we have a network. Again, AOF rocks.

Buy it! It's the best bike ever made, and nothing will come close any time soon. Enjoy it now! Spare parts have not been a problem yet.

What about a replacement battery in a few years?

Tesla batteries last longer than 10 years. Maybe even longer than 20 years. These should last about the same. If you need to fix something, parts are available. Complete new batteries are not needed in our foreseeable future. When/if they become needed, then we have a plenty of resident geeks who are itching to build them.

I forget how many cycles they tested them to. Many more than you can ride.
I dare you to wear out the battery. Folks can build a new one of you do something silly.

If you want factory warranty and support, the Zero FX is an option. It doesn't compare to the Alta's performance, but if you're just commuting short distances and don't need full on dirt bike performance I imagine it would be fine.

I love my '18 Alta MXR (got it plated) and as others have stated, the Alta owners on https://altaownersforum.com/forums/general-discussion.4/ are great. So far we've been fortunate to have Liquid Performance on ebay supply us with Alta specific parts: https://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_ss...rom=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=alta&_sacat=0

To be honest i never liked the look of the Zeros. And for the similar money , i prefer the Alta components with WP suspension much more.

I gave up on the EXR, and got a used a MXR.
Will try to make it road legal . I have the EXR lightning harness already.
Anyone with success installing LED lights and turn signals?

Got an EXR lighting harness and switches.
It's just plug and play into the existing plugs under the seat.
    The front is done.
I was planing to use a polisport LED tail ligjt at the rear, but that's a no go at the moment. Have to figure out the resistance ,etc.
So I will mount a SM fender/ tail light next, for registration purposes.

    Hmm, interesting, thanks.

Is there anything special about the EXR harness? Any special components besides the compatible connectors? Or is it just a compatible wiring harness?

I was under the impression the MXR needed a firmware update to power the 12v lighting system, but if its just a matter of installing wiring off the plugs under the seat, it sounds like a no brainer and very easy to do.

Yes, firmware needs to be flushed from MXR to EXR to allow power for the tail light secton. ( headlights and turnsignals work without flush)
And the harness is "just" connectors , with one pretty special one . imagejpeg_0(4).jpg
