Jonz, your bike sounds AMAZING in the vid! I also like hearing you laugh when you come upon the surprises in the trail, cool! :thumb

Do you remember if you were using the waterproof door or the open one on the GoPro? The sound on mine is not that good, but maybe it has to do with the speed. Not much wind noise at the alternate-trail rate of travel, eh? :lol3

I wish my helmet cam mount would've survived, I didn't get any vid of the alternates, and I wish I did.

I picked up one of those quick-strap goggle things that lets you keep the goggles ON the helmet at a Montana motorcycle shop. I love it!

Earthlings! Take me to your leader! :lol3

Log hopping time! :super It wasn't TOO big, but still big enough to pay attention!

Damn, what a sky! :eek1 It was fun chasing Jonz through little canyon set of twisties. I respect a rider who can blast through the turns on knobbies, and the big KTMs just eat that up! :beer

So imagine after being in the back-country for days climbing a hill and coming across an oasis, food and cold drinks, snacks and cookies displayed along the side of the trail all for your own enjoyment. RudyS2MT drove up his SUV and did exactly that for ALL the ADVriders that made it this far. That's one of the most generous things I've seen. You rule RudyS2MT!

    The man. The myth. RudyS2MT.

    Mommer was pretty excited.

    Dave takes nice pictures.

+1000 on Rudy52. I was so taken aback by his generosity, I didn't take any pictures. He even came down to our camp later on and shared more goodies with us.

Ya, it was surreal. There were delicious home-made cookies from his wife as I recall, and then we got a bag of ice for our beers for camp! :thumb:thumb:thumb

Halfway through the MT1000 my oil filter was caked. I pulled the filter skin off and clumps of dried mud rained down. :eek1 Scary, but that's why I have filter skins! :thumb Roll on a fresh one a go!

The least I can do is wash off the outside, eh?

    Happy birthday, Sven! :beer

Great photos of your filter and campsite. We were camped across the stream crossing from you about 1/4 mile beside the pond.

How many guys does it take to lift a 950 anyway? :lol3

This part was gnarly! The tally was three bikes down in this spot. :eek1 (but not mine!:super)

Jonz has a go on the "correct" middle line:

It's always stepper than in looks, but this pic kinda gives a feel for how big these bumps are:

Jonz had so much luck with the middle line on the rocks he decided to swing right through the water crossing to keep things interesting. Well, they got interesting!

Oh man, the sound of, what, FIVE LC8s and assorted KTM singles all barreling through that tunnel was amazing. What a unique experience! :super

    Hi Sven! :wave

It was about this time in the trip our group started having mechanical issues.

The poker run was a nice idea, but it wasn't really designed for the gnarly Alternate Riders! :lol3 We gave up on that pretty quickly.

The Gravelies! (Which sounds like the title of a B horror flick...)

I wasn't really in photo mode that morning, I was just enjoying cruising along through that beautiful, hypnotizing scenery, so I didn't get a lot of pictures.

    Flat #4.

As I was breaking the bead Davestr and Mommer reappear! My team! But on only one bike... (How are those hips, Mommer? Spread 'em! :lol3) It's so cool you guys found us there, if I hadn't had the flat we would've been gone, so I guess that means it was good thing???

If would've been me I probably would've opted out for the rest of the day. But Jonz, no sir! "Just get my arm on the throttle and I'll be alright." Burly!

Watching him put on the helmet with the bum arm made me wince, but not as much as seeing him do his necessary running karate-kick-bike mount-up. It hurts to watch.
