That's partly the way I see it. During the winter of 09-10 and last winter, I was able to have a few days when the weather was horrible to kick back and read some well written stories and see pictures of places I have always wondered about but never seen. It also inspired me in several ways for some creative ideas and plans of my own.

And the other part is it just looks like a great book and worth having, so I'm in.

My sister self published a cookbook 2 years ago. It's one of those things you don't realize how much goes into it until you see the process for yourself with editing, rewriting, design, layout, pictures, printing, finding a way to distribute it, etc. A lot of people are going to digital now, but for something like this, holding it in your hands I think is a different deal than seeing it on the screen.

Agreed... as much as I sit here at the desk reading RR's I really like laying back on the couch with my fingers wrappped around a book.
Gonna go read some of Walters book now....:freaky

    Walter,

First, let me say that your distribution agreement for the DVD works very well. Purchasing and delivery to the US was easy and on time.

Next, I thought the content for the main video was a great overview of what that journey was about, but after reading the RR, the additional content was even more entertaining.

Congrats on a very good product and will be watching for the next one.

    Cheers.

Now I have something to keep me company indoors on these cold wintery days and nights. Going to make a great coffee table book and a fantastic planning resource, thanks for publishing.:D

Just got done reading the book. Fantastic!
Only wish some maps had been included as my old (1968) world atlas didn't stand a chance keeping up.
    Hooray!

I went to their web site to buy the book and it says it's not for sale just yet? Can you tell me how you purchased this?

I've had an excellent few nights reading this thread, it's amazing how close to every aspect of your travels you've made me feel, the usual degrees of separation felt when reading an adventure novel have been narrowed in this thread with its multiple angles from multiple participant authors, direct Q&A and overall first class reporting.

I seriously want to buy the book just to remind me of how cool this thread is.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Walter,

This thread is not dead yet. In full support of the effort you put into your report I just ordered your book and dvd.

Be sure to kick a few $$ down to your two riding mates as well!

The picture of Tony at the bridge's end is The Best real world riding picture I have ever seen. Thank you for sharing your emotions with us in that photo Tony!
