Just curios of how it all started for Baldy. What was the inspiration for ADV?

Where would I find some history of ADV? Is there a place to find the first thread?

Thank you for a great tool you've given us riders. I hope by being a customer of Smug, I'm helping the cause.

And now it's two hours later than when I read this post. I'd forgotten so much of that thread and interview.

Just read the whole interview..thanks for linking.. but one question is really bugging me.... What happened to Fish? 47k posts and he gets banned...or bans himself.. just disappears in 2010?

Just read the Baldy interview as well.
Great read, especially with all the JM bickering between Fish and cRash.
But better yet because of all the life lessons provided by Baldy in a very colorful fashion.

Thank you kind sir for providing a place to hang out, learn new things, make friends or enemies and just have a great time.

Thanks Baldy for starting this great ADVRIDER site!! When I went and found the Baldy (Chris') startup story on your cake site, it was great.

Your personal disaster was in the area of Sao Paulo Brasil that I spent time in working for the Brasilian oil company. Great care of a tough life Chris!!
My wife reminded me that we stayed in the Geneva Hotel in Zona Rosa where your picture was taken of the beautiful prominade

    And Smugmug is BRILLIANT.
By the way the hallway on second floor of the Geneva Hotel that you showed has been cutoff from dinner tables and looks more plain now

And I had forgotten about cRAsH until you had this picture in your page

Chris is a great business man and his Cake.co has been very successful

Chris, I guess you were a geophysicist before you got into the NeXT digital front. I was a geophysicist (and still am) from U. Utah onward.
OK, I find this quote from you about your geophysicist period:
'So, I got a master’s degree in Geophysics, of all things, from Stanford and then went to work as a geophysicist, and for ten years I trotted the globe.'
