Anybody want to try riding this route in March when it's sloppy and muddy?
The Woodlawn ADV clubgang convened today (in missing man formation) to ride many of these (and some new) roads. We couldn't confirm that the mirror is still up due to snowpack on woodlawn pass, but we did baptize a new member into the club (the creek crossing was fun, but the road there was sketchy)
Well, all these roads are open but, uh...
Illinois gravel roads = the stuff of my youth or having fun in the foothills of Mt. Level.
Went for a brappy birthday ride this past Tuesday. The majority of that 180 mile ride included some of these classic tracks @matthaiduk and I have ridden together over the years. Perhaps we'll see y'all out there sometime when we actually put forth the effort to organize a meet up and the government deems it safe to make new friends again! Until then, here's several photos from Tuesday's ride...
Upon further digging into the photo archives I came across a day back in July when @matthaiduk let me borrow his DRZ and hit some of this route as well. This area is just a small portion of a route we like to call LOL LAME (Land of Lincoln Long Ass Motorcycle Expedition) I've completed the LOLLAME route over 2 days a couple times with a night of camping in Galena.(roughly 340 miles) But we challenge the long days of summer to get it done in one day. It is possible if I don't stop and take pictures of every pebble and puddle along the way!
When are we doing LOL LAME in one day???
The riding around here isn't world-class, but it's not so bad if you're willing to look around, right?
Weather looks like... It might snow?
