Finally got out for a 75 mile round trip ride today. Slab, wide open desert, and tight single track through boulder filled wash beds.

Even with 15/42 gearing it still lugs up hills without considering stalling, and hot starts with the decompression head is laughable. Time to order more klotz

I can get just under 4 gallons in it and if I don't hammer on it too much it'll get 20-25mpg. It's a IMS 3.6g tank with a dry break

Ya just need a little room- those things compress space and time. I had a 96 KTM 360. Riding in TN in huge roller whoops near Nashville. I gassed it to sky a little and the throttle stuck. Next thing I know the bike is 20 feet in the air headed for the forest. I bailed. Bike stayed upright between two trees and stalled. The launch was a bit more than I expected.

My 96 SX360 would kick back and either run backwards or break all the inner Kickstarter pieces. I got real good at changing kicker gears and pawls. Violently fast machine.

i feel like the 380 is the perfect balance between manageable woods power and violent monster. it has the big hit, but can be controlled.
    i love that motor.

i'm missing that big hit on the husky. fabulous bike, just does't have that 'oh, shit!' element.

    AlpinaE24 has the machine!

99 380EXC, getting cleaned so I can put on the Gnarly chamber and replace some bearings. I really love the power curve but damn does it eat plugs. 0507171624~2.jpg 0507171626~3.jpg

NGK BR9ES currently, but I've tried the 8 as well. The JD needle and leaner pilot made it better but it will still foul after a few rides. Still sorting out the jetting.
