Needs must! The laundry ... best room in the camp site!
Sleeping really! And hiding from rain!
So we lived!
Reports on how bad the Tuk road do seem to be somewhat overstated! We’re sure it could get nasty but it’s an amazing feat of engineering and road construction.
It’s a fast gravel road with pretty good “car Track lines” where the gravel is good. Firm base. It rained all yesterday but the road was mostly dry and the earthy sections were fast.
Mission accomplished! granmar’s burger and whale sample eaten, T-Shirt and stickers purchased!
Back in Inuvik, going to pub ...
PS it’s still day light here!
Yummy gravel time. The first 100kms are fast. Gravel a little fresher on last 50 in.
Met Dan again on the road.... we could see his KLR tyre tracks in the dirt as he leaves an impression!
The burger store ...

Quite some beach! Whales in the bay!
On ya marks .... the race home.... don’t get in the soft stuff or fall over the edge!
Best advice to the worried: check weather, have proper tyres, ride you own limit, don’t go into edge gravel!

Some pics from the southwards ride out ...
We picked a nice weather window (as the road was closed the day before with .75” rain).
The road was dry as we passed thru ... hard to believe the rain had fallen. Lots of quick clay top and gravel.
