    The Dukenator is here!!

Dawson City will do that to you! Such fond memories of Santeria g the streets in daylight at 3am!

So good to hear from you and likewise sad we missed each other. There’s nothing for it ... a trip to Oz is needed!

Just arrive in Germany this morning and had my first autobahn moments!

1 doing 145 kmph in a 120 k oh zone and being overtake. By everyone I cludi g a police minivan!!

2 setting the cruise at 165kmph (about 104mph) and only just keeping up with traffic!!

Off to visit a friend tonight before heading for UK on Friday night biar out of Hook of Holland.

I always liked riding in "yurp" as we pronounce it here.

I actually rode pillion - only once - with a shipfitter friend through the wet and gloomy backroads of Oost Friesland.

    Him: Grinning like a fiend.

Me: Screaming like a terrified four-year-old girl.

One has to ask: We notice the paper placemat is printed with the "Miss Pepper" logo. Is she the daughter of our very own Doctor Pepper?

    "Pumpkin Weeks?"

Landed safely in Celle and reconnected with Icelandic riding Carsten! So we had to share a couple of “dirty beers” and a walk around the lovely medieval city of Celle. It was weirdly saved from destruction in WW2 as the Queen of England has a castle here!! Thank goodness as the architecture is quite remarkable!

    The Queen’s castle!

I'm scrolling VERY slowly through all of this. I'm "currently" still on the Canol Road reliving my own trip and seeing things in your pictures that somehow I missed!

I also ran into the Goldwing/Camry rider but at the WalMart in Fairbanks then again outside Denali National Park. He drew a crowd whenever he stopped. WHile it may have been fun talking about his rig early on, by the time I saw him his "Humbug" was beginning to show.

OK, so we'll get to Ottawa tomorrow?

    Duke

I will owe you a beer if you get to the end!

Take care and ride safe. Where are you now headed? If your north it must be getting v cold there now.

I’ve just spent a sobering hour in the war graves from WW2. God they were mostly so young .... the messages on some graves are heart breaking.

    Pvt James E. Lannan.jpg

    My Grandad Jim.

He was drafted into the California National Guard in 1917. became a Platoon Leader and went "over the top" at the Battles for the Meuse-Argonne with the 156th Infantry, 40th US Division.

I have childhood memories of watching a grown man sob uncontrollably.

On that morose note let me get back to page six, where Peter moves his adventure back to Ottawa/Quebec. I think the posting of personal notes and pictures on your bike transport crates gives the "transporter" a peak into the mind of the owner and most likely adds a touch more care to the move.

I'm just getting over a sprained wrist and about ready to do some serious motorcycling through the Eastern US mountains.

That experience must have been shattering for him (your grandfather).

Re the ride report, I think you’ll like the north shore of the St Lawrence!

I just arrived at my port about 4 hours early as I was spooked by Fri night traffic in this crowded but of Europe! Enjoying coffee and healthy brownies as I dry out. 470kms in the rain is only so much fun on a Friday afternoon! I introduced the Dutch to lane splitting which they were very accepting of! I think my banana suite made them think I was a police man!

Oh and I have a “man flu!” Which is t helping matters! Snot in a full faced helmet is only a SoSo experience!

I have a few hours to kill but no photos to post as there wasn’t much stopping today!

Boat leaves @2200 and I awake in Blighty!

    Much unfinished European business!

There must be an expression for the last ferry crossing and getting a bit carried away with the straps!

The port was a bit lonely tonight!

Please forgive as I tend to read slow - yes my lips do move as I read...

Comments on page five of this report which we'll call, "Julie arrives to provide legitimacy."

I must have some OCD but I feel the need to go back to the beginning and create two spreadsheets, one to keep track of your beer testings and the second to log ferry crossings.

Comment on the lovely Julie: Are you sure she's not 'blood kin' to either Prince Harry or Ed Sheeren?

Comment on Poutine: Tasty Canadian goo that never caught on anywhere else but certainly has an appeal.

Keep riding Antipodean Man and we'll keep reading!

So I'm now following the two Aussie Honeymooners in 'Tilting,' on Fogo Island, which as I found out after some real online searching, is an offshore island somewhere near the rest of the New Found Land.

Yep, you certainly found a "far corner of this Earth."

I travelled up to Stephen and Tonia’s place (I was his best man 30 years ago and that have forgiven the bad speech I made!!).

Quite wet and not too many pics!

Firstly we visited the local bike shops, Adventure Motorcycle and Crazy Horse!

The latter also sells Morgan’s that are stunning!!
