been meaning to look into that after noticing it's setup differently than stock. Maybe PO just repositioned the drum & arm from the bottom to top. If not stock brake rod, probably pw. I think it's a great mod getting the brake rod further away from the ground and more protected going thru swingarm.

Believe it or not, I bought a third cheap seat to smooth out the top more. Should arrive Fri. Haven't gotten the vinyl yet. Will post pics of the project.

Been a great run with this Beast. Picked up some great tips and advice here and fortunately didn't need to do much to get this baby going.
Should be all set for another 35 years of reliable service or... if you want finish her off and ride her to a Starbucks Bike Night, HaHa.

One of the Best & Oddest 2-wheels I've ever ridden in The Pines:

^let me guess, you'll be hopping over to the MegaThreadFest lol... The Barnett is heavier duty clutch plates and/or springs, a nice mod. GLWS!!!

Been wrestling with the dang 80 rear tire, bead is practically welded on rim. Cut one side off, and the other side needs cutting off too. PITA!

I tried to break the bead on the hitch of my f150, lifted the truck and the bead didn’t move.

I put two boards on both sides of rim on the rubber and drove front wheel of truck a bit up on the boards, then while truck weight was on boards, I sledgehammered the boards on top of the rubber - did not budge. It was hard getting to the metal wires on bottom to cut them, they're on so tight that even a screwdriver can't get in there. Won't be doing the front anytime soon lol...

Thanks! I managed to get the tire off without destroying the hub. Dam thing fought me down to the very last wire cut...on both sides.

Can sell complete exhaust or a silencer. Not sure I want to pull a baffle out. Didn’t know they came out.

doubt the tire changer at the local shop can handle such small rims. And more $ in my pocket in the end is a win win!

I think I f'd up...got a duro 18x8x7 tire to replace the 19x9x7 that I took off. Looks like I need an 8" dia tire because it turns out the wheel is 7"x8" No wonder it was so dam tight, 7 on an 8...
