Have been riding darkside since 2013.
If you don’t get it,
Here is one on Fbook marketplace. I thought about contacting them, but now I'm leaning toward more upright seating position of an fjr. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/768628353695962/
Just bought an ‘02 with 17k on the clock from an older gent in the SF Bay area and am having it shipped up here soon. The Corbin Beetle bags are a bonus.
Bought a 1997 Honda cbr1100xx with 120000km (70k miles) and no qualms with regards reliability. Had the front end serviced, ohlins rear shock installed and new angel gt tyres. Sweet ride that's taken me and the girl friend the length of the country for the Burt Monroe Festival. Can well believe it will carry on for another 70k miles with little fuss.
Smooth powerful and inexpensive. And nice to be on something that's not another harley...
Girl and I have just returned from a 3000 mile lap of the south island on my 97 model bird. The Burt Monroe challenge attracted 5000 riders. Effortlessly handled, smooth like a turbine and fun with performance to spare. Totally recommended. And a fraction of the outlay of any other bike on the road. Seems counter intuitive that others spend ten times as much for less performance to have yet another harley...
Finally got mine delivered today and it’s in pristine shape plus it’s 60 and sunny here for my maiden voyage. Fits me perfectly at 5’10” and a 32” inseam. Faster than stink ain’t they wow! Great bike.
-Proud men will be humiliated, arrogant men will be brought low; the CBR 1100xx Super Blackbird alone will be exalted on that day.
Anyone else see this in the owner’s manual?
That's some funny shit.
My ZX12R, in first gear, when shifted at redline was going about 65mph. I imagine the Blackbird wasn't far away from that.
The zx14 manual says if the front wheel comes off the ground, lessen the throttle until it comes back down. Then continue to apply power.
And bone stock liter sport bikes now will do 100mph in 1st while using wheelie control...
Shift down below 9mph on the Blackbird into 1st then accelerate to 12mph and shift into second.
yeah, I've been doing it wrong.
We never got the 1200 Anni edition in the States, but I always thought it was a great looking bike.
Thanks for posting that! Never seen one before. Agreed, great looking bike.
Pretty sure those dyno’d 160+ at the rear wheel. Which was a shitload back then
So the right bike showed up, 2002 with 21K miles, plenty of service history, new tires, C&S and Delkevic pipes. Wasn't quite showroom as the previous owner claimed but runs and rides beautifully.
Looking for a tank bag recommendation, medium sized, 10L or so.
Still a shitload in my book!
