Been playing around with the Foundry Bulwark 3 piece gear set. I kinda like it. it makes you feel like you're invincible. With Adrenalin Rush and Intimidate you basically rush in and face tank the enemy. The 4 piece is going to get a nerf but the 3 piece is still pretty good. CP's on hard aren't a big deal. I haven't tried Challenging but I think it's more of the same. Heroic might be a little harder though. The only downside to this build is if you aren't within 10 meters your shots are like marshmallows and you lose your bonus armor. It's definitely better in a group I think, where you don't have to worry as much about getting flanked. It's also supposed to be a pretty good PvP build. The downside for that is if someone has sticky foam. You'll get burst down pretty quick otherwise. My build is nowhere near perfect as I kinda threw it together with whatever I had. All of the Armor rolls are RNG and are probably 75% at best. At least I can roll almost maxed out armor regen on everything but the backpack and chest as they need those two talents. Supposedly there are Marikami gloves with 1.0 Armor Regen which is really strong but I don't have those or the FB holster. It's still an interesting and fun build but you gotta be moving around a lot and have good situational awareness. Oh and also having the Lady Death nice too.
So I tried this build on Heroic and failed miserably. Not sure what I did wrong. I got burned to the ground by a red NPC. In other news, I made an Ongoing Directive Build and that's kinda fun. Causing a lot of status effects to get hollow point bullets is kinda cool. Not sure if I want to switch from my Crit DPS rifle build though. I just wish they didn't nerf the M1A though. There's a new headshot DPS build I might try as well. It utilizes the Virginian rifle.
Seems we lost a lot of players. Haven't seen Jim in months and Darren in several months. Same goes for Brian. Hope you guys are doing okay.
To be honest I bought the 2nd one on sale and then the pandemic happened.

Just a heads up. If you want a really nice Named LMG, the New Reliable is really good. Its a named Black Market RPK. Has 30% Weapon handling so it's very stable, accurate and reloads fast. Just add more Dmg to Armor and it will eat most NPC's. It's at the Clan Vendor.
Also the second Manhunt has started. This one is in NYC. I find playing on Heroic harder in NPC because of the Black Tusks and their drones. They're lethal. I'm just going to blow through it on Hard. I don't really care for Coney Island missions.
Will I be totally lost and too far behind if I get back into this game? I haven't played in months.
No, you'll be fine. You'll need to farm new gear but that's not a problem. If you didn't get WONY then you'll be stuck at Level 30 and a GS of 514, IIRC. Otherwise you'll be able to get to Level 40 and be able to do the Manhunts.
If you have Ubi Credits, I suggest getting the discount and using that to buy WONY for cheap.
Well, I've done all the Manhunt requirements for Luna and have 3 days to take her down. She's in WONY so you need that DLC to be able to do it. I'll hold off for a few days but let me know if any of you want in.
Downloaded 48GB of updates yesterday, launched the game, had to re-do the graphics. It always benchmarks 60 FPS (not synced or limited) no matter the settings. Whatever.
Continued my game and got endless notifications. Make it stop! Finally got into my inventory and realized why I stopped playing.
There is so much shit I don't know where to start.
I run Nvidia Experience and use two ticks up from Optimal (Very High) and get around 70 fps but I'm using an old 980 ti. I'm not going to upgrade till Cyberpunk 2077 comes out.
Well, that has more to do with the game being an RPG and that you've been gone and so now you get all the notices. You'll get the Kenly College notice all the time till you do it. No one likes doing Kenly College though. You can play them on Normal and jsut run through them once you've geared up though.
Okay, now I know why I hate NY. Stupid rogue's with their Stinger Drones. Luna is one of them... I don't want to drop the difficulty down from heroic though! I can get to her and down all hte other NPC's but when she sends that Stinger drone out I'm running. Even in open world those Stinger Drone's are fierce. That's why Skill builds are so powerful. You can throw Stinger drone and a turret out and have them do all the work for you. I don't really want to have to resort to my skill build either... I've tried about 5 times so far.
* EDIT I cheezed it with a skill build using the Acosts GOBAG with the Striker Drone and the Stinger Hive. It made quick work of the first two zones as they are CQB so there's no place to run from the Stinger and Hive. The Boss was on the barge. I don't really like this location since you can't really get close. The biggest problem is the drone she sends out but I used my drone to intercept it. SHe would push aggressively and I'd throw my hive as far as I could and he's run into it and then the Striker drone would chase her. Moved up, grabbed the hive and threw it further back. then retreated and she was dead. The only hard part is cleaning up any surviving NPC's. My Skill Builds have no armor so they are weak and rely on the skills to do the heavy work. Seeker mines still suck big time. They have a 75% chance of hitting nothing. You can't use them in Challenging and Heroic anything.

This means that an Exotic that drops as loot from a final boss in a mission will either be the Exotic specific to the mission (e.g. The Bighorn in Legendary missions) or an Exotic from the current targeted loot pool, but not a random different Exotic. These extra random Exotics can still be awarded with the same frequency but are acquired as an Exotic Cache from the mission completion rewards instead.

I got it working without crashing. I also figured out the Benchmark always runs at 60 FPS unless I hold left mouse button, then it gives a real frame rate.
So I cleaned up my inventory and took the chopper to the zoo. I'm stuck at the zoo. Halp.
You should be able to turn of the frame limit and un sync it in the Graphic settings.
Send me an invite if I'm on. I'd usually farming CP's on Heroic. Are you doing Manning on Normal? Wait till you play Coney Island and DARPA.
Well, I ran Yard Sale though Manning and both Coney Island missions on story mode. It was nice feeling powerful for once. I used a crappy Ongoing Directive build that I've thrown together in the past. It rips though the NPC's like nothing. Carnage LMG eats them up with the high RPM it has. Better than the Pestilence. Got crap for drops since it's Story Mode though. Unfortunately I couldn't give it to Yard since I'm Level 40 and he's still Level 30. Well, I could but it would be useless to him till he does WONY. He still had both Pentagon missions to do.
I've still been farming Heroic CP's. They are the best way to farm loot in the game. Better than missions. I've been getting fewer rainbow rolls (Defense, Attack, Skill) and more with matching secondaries. The New Reliable at the Clan Vendor is still very good but are only available for Level 40 players.
Thanks for the help. I got a worthwhile piece or two that increased my gear score from 484 to 491. Almost everything else is marked for donation.
Well, we can do DARPA anytime. Like I mentioned before Heroic CP's are the best for farming. And if you haven't farmed all of the blueprints, you can do both at the same time. All of the smaller Territory Control, Hostage Rescue, etc... around the Washington Monument is a good place to farm as well. Best on Heroic as well though. They're really quick and easy. 515 is the max level for level 30.
Really though, I'd recommend doing DARPA and finishing off anything else you missed in DC then going to WONY. Once you go there you'll get to level 40 all the of gear will surpass anything you could get at level 30. Just focus on getting a decent set of gear that works well with the talents and attributes. I did WONY with a HW skill build and did olay but I was playing with Jim and he was agro'ing everything for me. Now that I've played it with a DPS build, it's a lot easier overall. Although back then Skill Builds weren't the best. Now they're pretty strong. Use a Drone and a hive or turret or Mortar and seeker mines and you can just hide in the corner. Shield builds are really strong as well. Status effect builds as well. The Ongoing Directive build is fun as you rely on the gear set giving you hollow-point rounds then the talents automatically scoop them up...
Just a FYI. Since the new patch, NPC's seem to have been training hard. They're more aggressive and skilled. I'm getting hit by NPC's I can't even see, again.
Playing around with a headshot build. Yes, that's an accurate number. Just threw a bunch of gear together and other then Headshot at 10% the Weapon Damage is pretty crappy. It's not as good as my Crt build as it's very slow as the White Death only has a 5rnd magazine. Can't spam a target like with the Bakers Dozen. It's not a solo build that's for sure. Maybe Heroic CP's but not missions.
