TOM CLANCY'S GHOST RECON® BREAKPOINT: MOVING FORWARD
    Hello Ghosts,

Since the launch of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, we’ve been listening to you. We have been carefully reading the conversations online, and have met some of our community members in person to discuss the game.

We can’t stress enough how much we appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts about the game. And while these first weeks have been rougher than expected, we are taking your feedback to heart. We deeply care about this game, the Ghost Recon franchise and you, our community of players, and are committed to improving it.

Thanks to all the player feedback we gathered on the game and to our constant communication with our Delta Company community leaders, we are ready to communicate on where we currently stand, but more importantly, where we want to go.

    1. Technical State of the Game

Our first priority is to improve the technical state of the game. We know many players had a difficult time with game bugs and unexpected stability issues at launch and we are making every effort possible to address these issues as soon as we can.

With Title Update 1.0.2, released on October 15, our team made numerous improvements to the game, focusing on the most pressing issues that could be addressed in this timeframe. We are working on further improvements that will be coming soon with TU1.0.3 in mid-November, including fixes on the Drone deployment, on changing the fire rate, on NVGs blocking crosshairs and on the Mission Completion notification pop-up.

Title Update 1.0.3.1, coming around end-November, will include further improvements and updates on the most pressing community feedback.

Alongside this post is an update on the Known Issues of the game, and the highest priority issues.

    2. Post-Launch Content

As we focus on improving the game, we also want you to know that our commitment does not stop here. We are dedicated to supporting Ghost Recon Breakpoint in the long term with plenty of post-launch content and special events to keep the world constantly growing and evolving.

You will get your first taste with Project Titan, our first ever Raid, which will release in December, and The Terminator Live Event, which will release shortly after that. In order to make sure we remain agile and flexible, we’ll come back to you with more details including specific release dates at a later stage.

    3. In-game Economy

We also heard the criticism regarding the in-game economy. That is why we are currently working to make adjustments according to players’ feedback in the next few weeks, making the experience for players more comfortable.

    4. AI Teammates

We announced at E3 2019 that AI Teammates would come back to Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and they will. Ghost Recon Breakpoint was designed from the ground up to be enjoyed in co-op up to four players, and as an innovative pure solo experience. As such, adding back AI Teammates to the game is a major undertaking that will still require time. We will update you as we progress towards their release.

    5. Freedom of Choice

Finally, we are aware that some of the design choices made have caused polarized reactions and discussions regarding the direction taken by the Ghost Recon franchise.

We are happy to see players embracing the new elements of the game, but we also understand that there are areas of improvements. Some of you would like our new survival mechanics to have more impact on your experience, while others dislike the tiered loot progression we have added.

One of the key elements of our vision for Ghost Recon is to immerse our fans in a gritty and authentic military experience.

In line with this vision and the feedback we received, we are working on a more radical and immersive version of Ghost Recon Breakpoint. We also want to let you tailor your experience to the way you want to enjoy the game, since freedom of choice has always been part of the Ghost Recon DNA.

It’s still too early to share details on how that will work exactly, but it is top of mind for the team and we will keep you updated as we progress.

    6. Conclusion

We know that we have a lot of work ahead of us to get the game where you want it to be, and that not everything will be addressed or released as fast as all of you might like. Big changes can take time to make sure they are done right, but we still want to be as transparent as we can about the current state of development.

In order to ensure we are tackling the right topics at the right time, we are also looking into releasing a Community Survey that will help you to express yourself about the future content and improvements of the game.

To all of those who have jumped in and to those who are thinking about joining us – please continue to share you feedback. This is only the beginning and we look forward to the future together.

The official www.ghostrecon.com website will remain the main source for all future updates.

    The Ghost Recon Team.

So, I've finished all of the story missions and side missions and now I'm only left with Faction and Battle Rewards. It's tedious if you're not PvP'ing as I've heard you get more points there. Although they have been tweaking the games for the past few weeks. I started doing them from the get go but not always every day. They give you 56 days or so and you can get 2-3 a day without trying too hard. I've noticed there are fewer hack the computer ones but there's still at least 2 every day. You can never tell if it's a hack and your done or if you have to defend the stupid thing. I've switched to the sharpshooter skill to do these since I'm clearing sites more often than not.

I wanted to see if this was any good but it's not. At least not for me. You can't put a suppressor on it so it's not good for stealth. I've been using the 416 Smout which is a DMR with a 30 rnd magazine. Most of the other DMR's have 10-15 rnds only. There's no full-auto so you've got 3 shot burst and single. 3 shot is not my favorite as it's slow if you need to shoot more than one guy in a group before they alert everyone else. If you're good at headshots, seni auto is better.

Anyone else finished Breakpoint? I was able to get all of the Battle Rewards with 17 days left. Also picked up all of the collectables and blueprints.

I might try another run though with just a pistol or maybe one primary weapon slotted. I kinda wish they would only allow you to change gear at the bivouacs. Would make the game a lot harder since you have to check your loadout for each mission.

    CUSTOMIZATION
Since the launch of the game, we’ve been following the feedback regarding the availability of customization at the beginning and throughout the game.

We are happy to announce that based on this feedback, we have implemented the following changes.

    • To improve the experience of all players at the beginning of the game and to allow them to start creating their own Ghost, we’ve unlocked by default 40 items that previously needed to be looted or purchased with Skell Credits:
      • 5 vests (5.11 TACTEC Plate Carrier, 5.11 VTAC LBE, Blackhawk STRIKE Cutaway, Crye AVS1000, Blackhawk Strike Shoulder Pad)
      • 5 pants (5.11 Apex, 5.11 Tactical Stryke Pant, Jeans, Cargo, Chino)
      • 5 headgear (Crye Airframe, Reversed Cap, Military Cap, Berret, ACH Helmet)
      • 2 gloves (S&S WetWorX, S&S WetWorX Assault)
      • 4 boots (Under Armour Alegent, Under Armour Valsetz RTS, Under Armour Speed Freek, Under Armour Shoes Infiltrator)

Ghost Recon Breakpoint survey says players want AI teammates, offline play

Ubisoft Paris says most of the requests are “in progress,” but makes no new promises

    [IMG]Ubisoft Paris/Ubisoft
Ghost Recon Breakpoint players want AI teammates put in ASAP, want tiered loot and The Division 2-esque gear score stripped out soon, and no online requirements. That’s according to the two-week survey that Ubisoft Paris is using to rebuild the lackluster open-world shooter.

In a letter to players yesterday, developers reported the results of the survey. Although most of the requests and feedback are listed as “in-progress,” meaning something addressing these wants is in the works, Ubisoft Paris was a little vague about the implementation of the big asks.

For AI teammates, Ubisoft referred players to a note on Oct. 28 that kicked off the survey. AI teammates have been a distinguishing trait of the Ghost Recon franchise, which sits between Rainbow Six and The Division on a spectrum running from tactical to pure action. In the October note, Ubisoft Paris noted it announced at E3 2019 that AI teammates would join the game post-launch, but also called the feature “a major undertaking that will still require time.” In other words: message received, but no changes in plans.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s spectacular bomb blows up Ubisoft’s plans for 2019[/paste:font]
The same goes for gear score and tiered loot. Ubisoft also referred players over to the same “moving forward” letter that promises a “more immersive and radical version of Ghost Recon Breakpoint for early next year.”

And regarding a fully-offline mode of play, developers referred, somewhat conspicuously to that as “the remaining top result” of the survey, and said that “due to its scope [it] will require more investigation.” More info on that, or its feasibility at least, will be coming in early 2020.

It should be noted that The Division 2, since its March launch, requires a connection to Ubisoft’s servers to play even for a single-player instance in the open world. While co-operative matchmaking in The Division 2 is loads easier, Ghost Recon Breakpoint takes great pains to inform the player that it was designed for multiplayer experiences, which probably also explains why AI teammates weren’t in the game at launch. At any rate, given the history on this game and The Division 2, it seems a longshot that Ubisoft Paris can or will move off the online requirements.

Elsewhere, Ubisoft Paris said it had delivered improvements to enemy AI in the latest title update, and those efforts are still ongoing. The same goes for vehicle handling and balancing of the in-game economy. Quality-of-life requests, such as deactivating other players in the game’s hub world, camera improvements, respawn improvements and primary weapon designation are also listed as “in-progress.” However, sprinting in the hub world is just at the “investigating” stage. So everyone is still limited to a mosey or a jog within Erewhon, making it time consuming to go from mission-giver to the merchant to the bivouac to the raid, or whatever.

The most recent title update for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint introduced another big request from the community survey: More customization options for the player avatar. Players can now change their gender and face mid-game, surely a boon to those who enjoy cosplaying G.I. Joe characters. That also added another 40 default items to help players construct their look.

Breakpoint last week also delivered the game’s first raid, titled Project Titan. Community reaction that so far is lukewarm, with many complaining of the bullet-sponge difficulty of the raid boss and, again, comparing it to The Division 2’s raid, whose bosses are a lot easier to eliminate.

The Division (1) is coming to game pass this month. I'm thinking about giving it a try but how's the player count? And would it be a nightmare trying to start off against such a well established player base?

The regular cap for those not doing the raid is 252 if you do the Elite Faction Missions but they can be difficult solo. If you do the raid, I've seen GS's as high as 273.

I think having a raid is dumb and there is a big problem with it already. For those playing it, it resets every week, meaning there's no reason to play between those resets. They really need to remove the 4 person requirement for it and allow people to explore and do the raid solo or with 2-3 people. It should just take longer.

If you see me on, send me an invite and I'll join.

Some people have gone back to TD1 since TD2 is broken as well. PvP in the DZ is a lot better in TD1 if that's your thing. Story-wise, it's a better coherent story as it was built around the story. TD2 was built around the end game with a story sprinkled on it. 0-30 in TD1 is great though. I've heard it's tough to matchmake for PvP. I've also heard that there is no one playing Survival which is kinda sad. There's no Survival in TD2 yet.

    Holiday Event – Situation: Snowball
    • Washington, DC is still being fought over by all factions and the Division, but there should always be time for holidays and presents.
    • During the event, the game will get a new look, including a festive makeover for the login screen.
    • Players can grab a holiday care package that includes a festive Santa hat and three pieces of equipment.
    • Ambusher crews have a random chance to appear wearing Santa hats. Killing the “Hoarder” NPC wearing a hat has the chance to drop “The Sleigher” (guaranteed to drop the first time), a weapon that shoots snowballs and confuses enemies when hit.
Apparel Event #5 – Silent Night
    • Runs from December 10 through December 31, and keys can be used until January 7.
    • Players who log in during the event receives one free Apparel Cache key (Year One Pass holders will receive an additional three keys as a bonus).
Changes have been made to how players acquire Apparel Event Keys:
    • Guaranteed key with every three Field Proficiencies.
    • Guaranteed key with every five Dark Zone Proficiencies.
    • Weekly Apparel Projects reward three keys.
    • Gifting Apparel Event Keys is now possible.
    Hardcore Mode

With the holidays around the corner, the developers want to try something out and deliver a surprise for players. For the past couple of months, they have been working on a side project that they think will add a lot of fun for players, as well as a new way to engage with the game. With the caveat that it’ll be in beta at release, this small addition to the game will arrive next week with TU6.1.

    Details of Hardcore Mode:
    • Permadeath – players begin Hardcore Mode with a new Agent, lose all progress and items on death, and can then start again.
    • If all a player’s character slots are full, they’ll need to delete one to create a Hardcore character.
    • Hardcore characters don’t have access to the Stash, and no gameplay rewards from Hardcore mode carry over to a player’s other Agents.
    • Hardcore Agents play on Hardcore-only servers, and can only play in co-op with other Hardcore players.
    • Hardcore Mode comes with special vanity rewards, including a YOLO hat awarded for reaching level 2.
More work is still needed on Hardcore Mode, but the developers are releasing it in beta because they feel that it’s already a fun addition to the game, and adds something new for players to experience. Some things haven’t yet been implemented as fully envisioned by the developers, and there are planned features that haven’t yet been added. However, the team would like to hear from players via the subreddit and forums.

The Division 2 is available now on PC, Xbox One, and PS4, and is included in a UPLAY+ subscription. For more The Division 2, check out our previous coverage.

THIS WEEK IN THE DIVISION 2 – DECEMBER 12
    December 12, 2019

    Agents!

We're back with another edition of This Week in The Division 2, your one stop place to stay up to date with everything The Division 2.

Today we will go through we will recap Title Update 6.1, a small sneak peek into our ongoing UI improvements and recap some info you might have missed from last week.

    MAINTENANCE:
Maintenance was performed Tuesday December 10. Title Update 6.1 was deployed during the maintenance window.

Don't forget to follow us on @UbisoftSupport and @TheDivisionGame for maintenance updates. You can find all patch notes and server status updates on our official forums.

    6.1 UPDATE
We're happy seeing your warm reception of Update 6.1. We can't wait to see more crazy clips and stories emerging from the Hardcore Mode and the Black Tusk will surely fear the SHD even more now once you are equipped with the Sleigher Tommygun.

With that said, the Title Update 6.1 deployment did not go as planned and our maintenance was extended by 5 hours, for a total of near 8 hours downtime. We want to apologize for this and assure you that we were as bummed out about it as you were! As compensation, all players who log in before December 31st will receive an additional 3 keys for the Silent Night apparel event.

    • TU6.1 Issues we are seeing reported by our players and are actively investigating:
      • Invisible walls.
      • Targeted loot behaving differently, not dropping as frequently as before.
      • Delayed delivery of Apparel Event keys for Year 1 pass owners.
        • This seems to fix itself after playing for a while, but we will investigate further.
      • Crosshairs disappearing.
      • Clan Caches are item Level 350.
        • This seems to be a visual bug only and the items inside have the correct item level.
      • Cassie Mendoza and other vendors not having any items in the inventory for some players.
    DEVELOPMENT UPDATE:
    • We wanted to give you a quick sneak peek on some of the UI improvements we are currently working on. Amongst other improvements, you can now see how close your looted gear is to a "god roll". Tune in January, 2020 for more UI goodness!

    SITUATION: SNOWBALL
    Situation: Snowball is now live!

As a reminder, all Agents who login will receive a Holiday Supplies Care Package that includes three Standard Apparel Keys, three pieces of equipment, and your very own Santa Hat. Additionally, there are reports of Hoarder NPCs spotted in Washington D.C. who are wearing Santa Hats. These up-to-no-goods offer a special treat, if you can find and kill them: The Sleigher Tommy Gun! This named weapon shoots snowballs and comes with a unique talent "Hidden Rock"—headshots apply confuse, can occur every 20 seconds. How do you get your hands on it? Your first Santa-Hat-wearing Hoarder will drop the gun, guaranteed. Afterwards, all Hoarders wearing hats will have a chance to drop another.

For additional information, see our dedicated article here.

    HARDCORE MODE
The Hardcore Mode Beta is now live! This mode started as a side project for some of our developers who were passionate about the idea and we really enjoyed it internally, so we decided to share it with you before the holidays as a little gift from us. In hardcore mode, death is permanent, and your agent cannot be revived. We're looking forward to seeing how our community will tackle this challenge and no doubt be impressed by how skillful you in the community can be.

For additional information, see our dedicated article here

    SILENT NIGHT APPAREL EVENT
Our fifth Apparel Event will start on December 10th, featuring a dark winter theme! For our newer Agents, Apparel Events offer an opportunity to earn new cosmetic items through limited-time Apparel Caches. This time, our Silent Night Apparel Cache features 35 new apparel items to collect. Earn keys to open this cache through gameplay or direct purchase before the event ends and earn a unique reward! To further celebrate the holiday season, you can also gift Apparel Caches to fellow Agents!

For additional information, see our dedicated article here.

    KENLY COLLEGE IS NOW CLOSED
The Kenly College Expedition has now closed its doors and will open again on December 31st, 2019 if you're still hunting for the elusive Diamondback exotic.

    STATE OF THE GAME 142
There will be no State of the Game next week as we're about to head out on our annual holiday break.

State of the Game will return to our normal weekly schedule on Wednesday, January 8th, 2020 where we will talk about Episode 3 as well as provide you with a State of the Game roadmap for the January period. Mark the date in your calendars!

The development team here at Massive wants to wish you all a happy holiday period and we're very excited to share more about the exciting future of The Division 2 early next year.

    Ghosts,

In our December Update we announced that we would have our next TU, 1.1.0, live on the 18th. After careful consideration by the development team, we are choosing to delay the release of the TU until the latter half of January to ensure its quality.

Our goal is to deliver you polished content and meaningful bug fixes, to do that we need a little more time. This means that the Terminator Live Event and the fixes referenced in the monthly update will be coming to you in the new year.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we put the final touches on TU 1.1.0.

    /The Ghost Recon Team
On another note, I played a little TD2 and it feels a lot different than from when I stopped. They finally fixed it so when you donate supplies, you can donate all at once instead of having to wait for each to fill up. It's actually been so long that I kinda forgot how to play. Luckily my character is tanky enough that I didn't die just wandering around the city. There's a bunch of free stuff you get if you log in this month so if you haven't done so, you might consider it. I still find myself playing GRB just because there's still a lot I can do without having to have a team. And if you haven't already done so, you might also want to log in just to see all of the free blueprints you got from the Battle Rewards events for free.

I played The Predator event for Wildlands and it was super easy but this looks hard. Especially with the state of the game right now. Maybe it won't be.

    • Weapons/Balancing:

      • The LMGs with 100 ammo capacity have been nerfed by -7%. (Only for raid boss fights, not for the rest of the game.)
        • Message from the Devs: The LMGs with high ammo capacity were too powerful and dominant in raid boss fights. Their damages have been nerfed for raid boss fights only (not for the rest of the game). It should help more weapons and playstyles to shine.

    • Fixed an issue that caused several stats to reset to 0 after creating a new save slot or deleting one (Story Collectibles, Main Quests Completed, Playstyle, Combat, PvP Player card stats, etc.).
    • Fixed the Gear level displayed in the Statistics menu that did not update until the player logged out.
