    It's never too late to pick another one up. I'd be really unhappy without my minibike. I've gotten an amount of carefree fun from the bike all out of proportion to what it cost. Maybe it'll need a valve job someday, but other than that, it seems it's going to last me a lifetime, ot at least until gasoline is not longer available.

    I bought my lady a dr 200 about seven years ago. Well it has been sitting in the corner for about five years now and the batterys been dead for a couple. Oh yeah and it has less than 300 miles on it.
    Because of this thread I'm going to get a battery and crank the suspension back up to normal height, then go out and have some fun with it. Thanks I needed that.

    My larger bikes sit while I tour around on this pup.:ricky

    A bike (as would be all MT rigs) that would be in tune with the times as the "resource wars" continue and perhaps escalate. It's fuel useage is not even a factor in it's operation. Even my 350 and 650 are at 60+ but the 200 gets the nod because of it's fit and utility. Also, a great bike for slipping in and out of those impromptu campsites.

    Hi to all, just got a 96 dr200se. It had the infamous carb problems, previous owner installed a carb kit and never set it up right. I don't have a service manual yet. So, does anyone know what the float settings, should be? also any idea what to set the mixture screw to as a baseline?? Previous owner took to mixture screw out for carb cleaning. Just trying to get it running acceptable for this upcoming weekend. Thanks for your time.

    With the carb inverted the flange to top of float but not the metal tongue is .51 +/- .04" or 13mm +/- 1 mm. By mixture screw I assume you are talking the pilot screw and that setting is to be learned by turning in prior to removal. Are you going to go with the extended version, that is available from www.kientech.com. Jesse is a great guy and could also help you with a spec setting if you need one.

    Specs quoted per the '97 Suzuki DR200SE service manual.

    Right on, thanks for the quick response!! I did call Keintech, to see about the extended pilot screw, I am only about 2hrs from his shop. Jessie said, usually anywhere from 1 to 1 1/2 turns is a good place for the pilot screw.
    I hope to get her dialed in sometime this weekend. Cool little bike, I can see where it would be more practical/ and comfortable, then my Honda XL600R.
    Seems to pull me up my hill, 250lbs at 40mph very easily, Even with a messed up carb. Definately do-able, way cooler than a scooter. Thanks again Inmates...... I'll check back with a status report. :freaky

    This is very true. I've spent my life stealth camping, so I instinctively look for places to camp as I am riding. When I'm on the 200, I see them all over as I travel. It'll go almost anywhere I can push a bicycle.

    Even though I'm over the hill and usually stay in motels now, I really appreciate all the extra camping options. I found the perfect stealth camp outside of Wahpeton, North Dakota. It was about half a mile down a field road to a grove of trees and brush that you could tell used to be a homestead, although the buildings were long gone. It was totally isolated and secure. That was a lot of fun. I just pushed the 200 into the trees and found a place to pitch the tent. My timing was perfect...I got the tent set up about 15 minutes before sundown, then darkness falls and your chances of being seen go way down. (it was a pretty good thicket anyway) I don't start a fire or anything and leave no trace.

    I really like those front racks with the round headlights. I ought to try to fabricate a rack like that.

    I've lusted over the Japanese-spec small Suzukis on the Japanese website. We're really deprived here in the states.

    I got one of the AG style DF's from an Importer here in Brisbane for under
    A$2K, a great bike for the Father in Law on his Farm. The guy had purchased about 15 Djebels and a couple of the DF's. They also have an Oil Cooler from memory.

    Remove the carb. take the bowl off. Turn it upsidedown. Eyeball your floats carefully. (Now follow me carefully on this thought process.) Holding the carb upside down and straight with the world, look at the float assy and adjust so they are absolutely on the same plane with the carb body and make a 90degree angle to verical zero. Now put everything back together and put a piece of fuel line to your float bowl drain and bend it up to the seam where your float bowl gasket is. Open your float bowl drain.(it will fill with fuel but since your holding the open end up higher than the float bowl it will not run out.) The level of fuel in the tube should intersect the center (middle) of the carb body to floatbowl seam. This is called fuel level height and is Suzukis prefered method of setting float height. If it does not reach the seam raise the float up towards the tank( minute adjustments). and vice versa:evil
