The FJR will probably exceed 60 in 1st! It will be way faster than my old ST1100 and with a faring and wind screen it's much harder to judge speed. I can't tell you how many times I'd look down on the interstate and find I was running 90-100 mph. That bike (and other big sport touring machines like it) just settle into their "groove" around 80 or so. Smooth as a baby's butt and just humming along at 4K rpm. That's what they were designed to do. I read somewhere that Honda targeted the autobahn with design of the ST1100 (or Pan European over there) with the expectation of cruising at 160 km/hr. The observed top speed of my ST with bags and a large windscreen was 142 mph. Riding those machines under the speed limits requires concentration.
