So here we are, in Lima, the day after the end of the Dakar 2019. Laia has shaved Toby's head and Toby has (sort of) kissed Laia!

Friends coming back from the KTM post-race party (posing with the trophies and one of our tour Aussies even got Sam's jersey!) have said they have heard rumors that 2020 will be in northern Africa!

That's funny because Etiene already got a Go-Ahead from Paraguay for 3 stages.....

    AND SO IT BEGINS :y0! :y0! :y0! !!

    From a Peruvian local.

“The ASO, had already approved 4 stages, to the north (border with Ecuador) They were not made, because there was no time to organize everything.”

“It would start from Santiago de Chile and end in northern Peru.“

    This all referring to 2020

In Chile the Ministry of Sport has already approved a budget of 2 million dollars for the Dakar, that's official (but it's not enough to cover what the ASO wants).

In the press there is talk of a mining company that would contribute with the rest of the budget, and that -probably- the race would start in Chile and go through Argentina.

In TV (Fox Sport) Nasser Al-Attiyah said that in 2020 the dakar would start in Chile.

The director of the Dakar, Etienne Lavigne, assured that there is nothing concrete in any sense for the Dakar Rally 2020, but that as soon as the current edition ends, they will travel to Peru and other countries in the region such as Argentina, Bolivia and Chile to learn more about the willingness to host the rally next year.

On the possibility of repeating the experience in a single country, Lavigne said that they need to know the assessment made by the Peruvian authorities on this issue but recalled that the Dakar has yet to explore the Peruvian north.

"The northern part is very interesting to build stages between Lima and Ecuador, we had a very interesting project (for this year), but we were a little short of time because there is a very intense fieldwork with the Ministries of Environment and Culture of Peru "he explained.

Nothing closed However, for the executive, it is still not clear how the racing championship will be structured next year, due to the fact that the 2018 edition was organized with little time.

"It is very important for us to be more comfortable than this past year on the subject of composition of the next edition, because to build the Dakar well we need more than six months," he lamentedUnique in Peru. The French businessman assessed that the current edition of the Dakar, that for the first time was made in a single country with ten stages in Peru, "it was an unusual experience" but that in his opinion had nothing to envy the sport level to other previous editions due to its high intensity.

"We are talking about shorter but more intense and difficult stages, they are really difficult conditions at a high level, it was very difficult for us to finally have this level," he said. Two countries The director of the Dakar also stressed that only with two countries such as Chile and Peru " they can do many things ", including a hypothetical journey that begins in Santiago and ends in Piura, on the border of Peru with Ecuador.

"But for that we need to recover the definitive agreement to cross the northern part of Peru, it is one of the projects, but we still have no certainty about what we can do here," Lavigne said of that part of Peru where the archaeological remains of millenary civilizations abound. pre-Inca

Chile-Argentina-Paraguay, would be the new routes of the Dakar 2020

In the month of April the route will be confirmed by the most extreme motor competition, the Dakar Rally-Raid of the year 2020. There are many expectations regarding this information.

Argentina and Chile will apparently be back on their road map. This is not surprising since they had vast experience in their development since joining South America in 2009, but what is striking about everything is that Paraguay will be added to these two countries.

Everything would start in Chile, continue in Argentina and end in Paraguay, there is even talk of a minimum of 3 Special Tests or 3 Stages in Guaraní land, unlike the one and the departure from Asunción in 2017.

In the end, everything that is talked about is speculation, but that there is something no one can deny. An Argentine media echoed these days of the issue and it does not stop showing that something exists, even if we have to wait for the end of the next month of framework or the beginning of April.

    LAVIGNE OPENED THE FIRST EXPECTATIONS

The information already had its first diffusions shortly after the beginning of the eleventh edition, which was recently disputed in Peru and subsequent to it.

    translated

This came after it was learned that Etienne Lavigne, director of the event and leader of the Amaury Sport Organization (ASO), French company organizing the Dakar, quietly visited Paraguay to contact government authorities in their search for possible venues for the forty-second edition of the most extreme motor test in the world to be completed in January of the year 2020.

The news had its diffusion, but it happened as one of those that are always launched when there are still no signs of reality. However, now a couple of months to know the future of the test in Argentina is again talking about the early competition of 2020.

The Diario de Carlos Paz, near Córdoba, has just published information about the possible course of the Dakar for next year, including the possibility of its start in Santiago de Chile, its subsequent passage through Argentina and its final in Asunción, Paraguay.

THE NEW PUBLICATION GIVEN IN ARGENTINA

To consider the information of "El Diario" by Carlos Paz of utmost importance, we reproduce it below:

Carlos Paz. The next edition of the Dakar Rally could be held in Argentina and the growing expectations in the city of Carlos Paz, which hopes to return to become the epicenter of the competition and host the Vivac. The organization wants the start to be in Santiago de Chile, I have one step through our country and finish in Asunción del Paraguay, in April the new route will be confirmed and an alternative is to do it again in Peru and reach Ecuador.

The authorities of one of the most important automobile events that takes place in Latin America will meet with the Secretary of Tourism of the Nation, Gustavo Santos, who will look for the Dakar 2020 to return to Argentina and install a Vivac on the shore of Lake San Roque As it was known, after the competition that this year was held in Peru, the organizers confirmed that Chile will host the start of the next edition and everything shows that Peru will be left out.

Etienne Lavigne, director of the test, acknowledged that there are advanced expectations for Argentina to join the competition again. The Amaury Sport Organization (ASO), a French company that organizes the Dakar, will seek to recover Argentina and Paraguay as the sites of the toughest rally in the world before deciding whether to maintain the race in South America. After the conclusion of the competition this year, the French said in an interview with the EFE news agency that the priority of the organizers is to continue in South America, where the last ten editions have been held.

«During the next months we will visit Chile, Argentina and other countries of the continent to recover tendencies about participation in the future»; acknowledged Lavigne himself, who is in talks with the national government to incorporate San Juan, La Rioja, Córdoba and Buenos Aires to the route. If this news is confirmed, the city will once again receive one of the most important automotive competitions in the world and dreams of being a protagonist.
