Sketchy roads! Must have been twice as hard navigating without brakes or Sachas clutch. Love the pix. Roads look epic

We’re south, in Argentina. Lot of cool stuff happened but not a lot of cool internet access. Let’s see. Thanks to Salsa Rider’s report, we knew to put our bikes on the ferry backwards so we would have an easy off. But it wasn’t an easy on. I still managed to fall in the bilge and bust my knee. We got up to Copacabana, on the southeastern shore of Titicaca and spent a couple nights at a cool place on the hill. 197C57C4-F185-4F74-8AC5-AB192A96536A.jpeg We chilled for a couple days and planned our route south and to the Solar. The Death Road isn’t do deathly any more and, after Peru, didn’t excite us so we kept good by south... to the Solar

The Salar was under water so we chose not to take the bikes into the salt water and hired a three day tour of the salt flats and the Laguna region. 2F6ADC03-32C5-440C-B1D2-07E1EE892FB9.jpeg C9DD0781-972D-49E3-AE32-A737A17FCD62.jpeg 10CDC969-FA26-4FD4-8773-D5E41D9936DF.jpeg

What an amazing place...Stark, cold, high altitude. We chewed bags of coca and slept in salt hostels...six to a room! 72F2EB44-1655-4196-94E8-B9CB41297C36.jpeg But it was good to get back to the bikes and venture on towards Tupiza. 42E0A49A-894E-4D46-8695-F5D0B511A7BD.jpeg B945DDE1-53EC-4CE7-ADA9-04A98DC38BD1.jpeg Legend has it that Butch and Sundance met their end out here after robbing a mining company payroll.

From Tupiza, we rode south to cross the border into Argentina. Pretty straightforward crossing. 96C1A074-0752-4B8A-B0C1-7E3C393C89C4.jpeg Okay, Argentina, I hear you got meat??? 303B6783-2DC1-4B12-B660-2C14006D44EA.jpeg and dirt :))) 10BB11A6-A779-47FB-B229-811B9C1660BF.jpeg

What a day, yesterday. We struck camp just as a herd of sheep invaded our campsite. Rode southeast to the Argentina Aduana near Las Floers and stamped out of Argentina. It was at least 80 Kms of dirt from Argentina’s exit to the Migracion/ Aduana for Chile. Beautiful scenery at +4000m. Fantastic riding but...Along the way, I lost my tent, got a flat tire and the Chilean inspector confiscated my honey. 2AE9D9DB-8A6F-4361-B12B-263BA3EF8023.jpeg 78B92F27-127C-42D3-BAF5-94E8C6AC477E.jpeg AED849D3-CA44-4A11-A7B7-BFD5693C5A57.jpeg
