I'll make an attempt this WE if the weather isn't too ridiculous. I don't mind the rain, but the lightning is too much as one person got killed yesterday not too far from here..(Parkland)

I might be getting too philosophical here, buuuuut....wouldn't you rather die instantly by a lighting bolt while enjoying a ride, rather than a slow, painful death with tubes up your nose in a nursing home bed?

    Oh that would suck...

I think it really depends. If the choice were Lightning at 15-years younger than Tubes, I'd do the Nursing Home. If it were only a couple years than I'd opt for the Lightning. Maybe I'm putting too much thought into it. :lol

I joke with my wife that if I ever get Alzheimer to help me get on my bike and point me north, I'm going for that last ride... :deal

Hunter Thompson said that, it is better to be fired out of a gun than squeezed out of a tube, and so yes Carpe Diem with some common sense of course....:drink
I hear you on that long ride....:D

Back in school, I knew a girl that got in her car to runaway from home and she decided to head to New York....she ended up calling her dad a few hours later from Florida City...:doh

I did a bit of levee riding today..:evil They were actually smooth as butter because of the rain, so minimal potholes and washboards and after all, the RT is a GS clad in plastic panels.....:lol3

I pulled something similar when I was 10 or eleven years old. My mom grounded me and in my infinite wisdom I decided to hop on my xr80 with a pocket full of Xmas money and take off. I called from a pay phone a couple of towns away to let her know that I wasn't coming back until I was "ungrounded". Even got myself a map with plans on heading to Orlando where i was going to get a job at Disney. I made it about another ten miles before it started raining and getting cold. Wound up riding home 30 miles in dark, cold and wet. My pops took the carburetor off of my bike and I was on parental house arrest for months. I should have taken the 2 weeks I had originally started out with!! :lol3

Your's too!! We managed almost 1,200 miles of twisties in 4-days, lots fun and got it out of my system for a few months. I have bought pics from KB in the past and even made it on their facebook page a year or so ago. I need to go back to their page and try to find more, I'd like to find one of me and my riding buddy in the same pic.

Looks like the rain may let up this weekend, hopefully someone goes out and get's the real tag to keep this moving.
