So far I have held out through a typhoon in the Phillipines, trained in Martial Arts in China and taken the Trans Mongolian railroad across Russia. Now I am in London where I have bought an F650GS Twin to ride Europe. Since I am on 2 wheels now it is time to start a ride report. You can see the video blogs so far at www.thegreatgallivant.com - they are on average around 10 minutes in length. Nicole and I about to leave Avignon for Italy. Riding through the snow on the way to Italy through the South of France near Digne. This doesn't look good... A Nice sunset. The Obligatory CINQUE TERRE! Swing dancing in Italy with friends we made couchsurfing. Backyard soccer on the hills of Tuscany as the sun sets on a day I will never forget. The feeling of a child being naughty, testing the boundaries. Is there a strange road rule I don't know about here... British traffic is more chaotic than home. Traffic signs are smaller than my big Australian eyes would like. It is 8 degrees and three layers are keeping me warm. I ride past two accidents involving pedestrians and vehicles. Need to watch out for people stepping onto the road here. After two hours I roll the bike into the garage. One of mum's church friends has offered me her garage to use while I am here. It eases the nerves as London is notorious for bike theft. I took the any means route to London and now I am going to do Europe on the motorbike for a year before heading to South America then Central and North America. Highlight of the trip so far - Russia. Definitely going back there. I don't know why... Check out the video for the rest... Please, any advice on places to go would be great - I am keen to meet ADVers out there :) Here is the route/plan - right now as at mid March 2012 I am in France/Spain for a while - as it gets warmer I am going to head up North through Western Europe to Scandinavia and then back down through Eastern Europe.
