If you like to bicycle and looking at large draft horses, Mackinac Island is a nice place to visit. Go in September or October when the crowds are down.
The island is in Lake Huron between the UP and Lower Michigan.

When we did a circle tour of Superior in 2016 we lucked out and hit Marquette when the tall ships were in.
We spent a extra day there so we could check out the ships and harbor area.

If you visit Marquette there's a good flat parking area next to the harbor and downtown making it easy to walk around.
    Tall Ships (5).JPG

A good place to eat next to the harbor is Sol Asteca.
We ate there 2 different trips. It's on the 2nd floor so you get a good view of the harbor.

In 2016 when we were visiting the Two Harbors, Mn. Lighthouse we could see a ship being loaded with iron ore pellets.
Loaded rail cars are on top of the dock and the pellets are dumped down huge chutes into the ship.

Naniboujou was a good place for breakfast and looks like a neat place to stay.
Make sure to bring a book or have your e-reader loaded. No TV or internet.
It's a little north of Grand Marais, Mn.

These are from the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee. I'm not really a Harley fan but one trip to their museum
is enough to make you a fan of the company. What a spectacular way to preserve history and they do a super job of making the visit interactive. REALLY COOL.
