Didn’t know that. Makes sense. Thanks! I was using them mostly for lane changes. I really liked the size of the switch gear, how they felt, and how legible the markings were.

I realize that they probably meant to type “their”.

The FIRST electric motorcycle like they were the FIRST to hit 11s with an Electric Motorcycle. HD is good at making bogus claims I notice haha. Sorry I took a critical thinking class in college and I think Harley Davidson must take this class as well.

You could say maybe the first, almost the first, not quite the first, but I don't think it's first.

Sounds like it was more than "after hours".

From an article on the trip in the new Harley Enthusiast magazine.
Harley put together a team of engineers and designers to modify the Livewires, modifications included "suspension, wheels, tires, rider position and comfort, cargo capacity and extending the range". The team worked on the bikes for a month "putting in long hours".
Ewan and Charley were still deciding what electric motorcycle to use on the trip and tested the modified Livewires. They picked the Harley.
After Harley was picked the team continued to work on the bikes for another 8 weeks.
The Harley Team went on the trip. Their job was to keep the bikes running and find ways to keep them charged.

Rivian trucks - "In later stages of the trip H-D and Rivian engineers figured out how to adapt them into mobile charging units".

If I had $100,000 in the bank I'd ride a Ducati Scrambler to Tierra Del Fuego, and have enough left over to float for 6 months getting back into the grind.

Actually I would need more than $100,000 because my rental agreement says no electric cars or motorcycles.

I would need a new place to live.
