Not sure if this is 205 but I just saw this and it looks kinda cool....a little hipster based on the pics but still cool.

They have food, bike demos, skills course, rides, vendors..... I would be all over this if I wasnt occupied that weekend

    The High Pipe Festival

it looks like its their third one and I CANNOT GO because that's the same weekend of our annual family pilgrimage to Monterey for the Historic car races.

Just signed up. I haven't heard of it before but sounds like fun. I'll have to scrounge up some tracks for the area.

I WAS WAITING FOR THIS! Though I'm kinda bummed its at Wrightwood this year and not up at the sierras like last year. I'll stay subbed to see what type of riding there is near the area.

I was thinkin about throwin 17's on my 690 and cruising up......but if there's dirt riding to be had, I may have to keep the knobs on. I haven't been up that way since I broke a rib night skiing on my birthday haha

That looks fun. Any idea what kind of riding in that area? Is it beginner/big bike friendly?

This sounds like it may be a nice day trip to check out the events and maybe demo a bike I can't afford!

I know there's a couple of forest trails that head up behind the Ski runs up to the microwave tower.

Sounds like a good time to me. The scavenger hunt scored via Instagram is the same format the Cycle World Adventure Rally used when I competed in it, and it was a pretty cool event.

And at $10/day, the entry fee for this thing is hard to beat!

    :hmmmmm

That does look interesting and basically in my backyard. Will def keep an eye on this :nod

Some fun/easy dirt roads in the area. Not a ton. No trails unless they open something in the ski slope area :evil

What is the scavenger hunt like? Is it open to any kind of bikes? Pictures all look like hipster/scrambler crowd :dunno

Weekend after Kennedy Mdws campout. Maybe camping two weekends in a row :kumbaya

You may be right on the hipster/scrambler crowd, browsing the pics I see a BMW R9T and a KTM (I think).

If that's the demographic, it should be easy to do well on the scavenger hunt. :lol3

If the event is all neo-organic mustache wax, man-buns and so forth, simple enough to burn rubber and ride the eastern side of the 2. Great road and deserted to boot.

Bump. This is probably going to be a fun laid back event. When it was at China Peak it was a really good time. There’s lots to do if you want or you can just people watch too. The promoter puts a lot of effort into the event but it really needs more exposure. I’m not sure how it is even marketed but don’t miss this event .

Although this thread hasn't moved much, I'm still looking forward to this. We're bringing up the motorhome and plan on a weekend of fun and games. If we get to ride too.. all the better.

    So who's coming up?
