Who else is planning to get one?
Does Honda plan to offer a 2-seater?
If I hadn't just bought my Tiger........
Aside from that. Honda is right on the money. People who grew up on motorcycles and can slide into a large bike are getting harder to find. An unassuming, non scary, inexpensive motorcycle that has vintage roots is just what north America needs to get people out of the fear of riding motorcycles. It's hard to get over fear when the bike is bigger than you.
Mr. Munch a Lot,
The monkey? No. The Honda cub? YES though I wish it was the 2018 version so I could just have a regular key and kickstart. But we shall see.
It will be impossible for me to resist this, even though it’s overpriced
I grew up on a z50r and still have it.. I don’t think we even maintained it when I was a kid but the thing still starts right up and runs like a top
I would consider one if I didn't have a scooter already. Everyone needs a 125 in their stable.
This sounds good:
"Honda are claiming the Monkey can do a slightly obscene (in a good way) 189mpg thanks to its fuel-injection system"
The guy with a gorilla avatar created a thread about the Honda Monkey.
A yellow one. Because I didn't own one when I was a kid.
I like it and would get one but $4,000 would buy plenty of vintage Honda minis. Too much money but it’s pretty awesome.
I can see 2 mods I will do to mine. Mill those mounts for the fork protectors off and get some fork gaiters. Paint the tank. I want it to look like my 70.
As BT stated above, I’ll get one even though it’s overpriced. The bike my parents wouldn’t let me have—have to get it! Just wish they were available now.
For those who are despairing the high price of the Honda there is always the much more reasonably priced Pitster bike.
And, don't forget, Pitster Pro also has CT-70 replicas with 125cc engines:
They also have the 125 Classic Pro with inverted forks and larger diameter tires:
Have a 2017 GROM that uses the same motor, unless I am mistake. Not even broken in yet & according to online conversion tables I am getting 140 mpg
If that thing gets a true 189 MPG, I'll get one.
It's imperial gallons, 157mpg US (67km/litre). That's 375km (233 miles) from a tankful (5.6 litres).
Now I'm disappointed by the fuel economy of my scooter, I might need to trade it in for this Monkey.

I'm buying two. I mean you gotta have an extra for the son, wife (maybe), girlfriend, friend, dad, brother, etc don't you?
That is odd they didn't replicate the paint scheme with the color on the bottom.. Here's my '70 in '90 with my son on it.
If it gets an actual 157 miles per US gallon, that's good enough reason for me to get serious. But, here in Hawaii, the fees are going to be much higher.
Put my deposit down at Southern Honda Powersports yesterday. First (and second) in line!
