yep, super clean. It was restored 2 owners ago, back in 2005. Was entered in a few local PA shows. I have a box of records and parts list and bills showing the guy really tried to get as factory correct as possible and spent some big $ doing it. I don't think is was rode much since then, and may never have seen the dirt. Besides sorting the electrical/ timing gremlins the only other big flaw is the muffler split along the seam and I had to get it brazed back together, hope it holds.

The records show he had a hard time finding the stock tail light assembly, he had to buy it from the Netherlands, cost him a few hundred $.

N00b! first time tearing a bike down, anything you can see/know that I need to do here please chime in. I got 3 bikes for $500, this 1978 xl 125 and the next project, '73 cl 350 which I posted in olds cool. Figured I'd start here, mostly because I need some practice before tackling the scrambler...

Need a little guidance, the throttle handle is totally frozen on this xl125. I took the cable off and the grip but even with two channel locks cranking on it I can't get it to budge, any tricks of the trade ?

Simpler times. 1980 XL185S, bought it in 1982 with 600 miles for $500, beat the snot out of it for a dozen years and sold it for what I paid for it. Put new fork seals and a decent set of shocks on it and it just ran and ran.

Funny, the 200r came out (82?) when I was busy blasting around south Jersey on the 185 above and I really wanted one. Paying for college and then several street bikes got in the way. This year I went shopping for a light trail bike and would have killed for that 200r. Hard to find though and I ended up with an XT225. Same basic bike but with a disc and e start. Lots of fun.
