Winter's been tough. Not that much snow and weather that crushed what snowpack we had. Good news for ice and trail conditions. Daylight's returning and the ice spikes mounted again. Last weekend's shakedown run was awesome and this sunday promises more 2-stroke wringing out there. I bet the Denali Higway is even rideable.

Lots of new train activity coming to Healy this summer. We may just get to meet finally. :1drink

Spending too much time in Healy these days. Working 6 day weeks on 'Little Bulgaria'. They'll be here in 2 months. By then, dry roads, relatively warm. We should ride. But why wait? The ice is nice.

Temps in the mid teens. Beautiful sunny day. Perfect ice conditions. First went out to the ice supermoto loop with Lex for his exercise run. Then, without dog, headed down river to the Nenana all the way to Clear Creek rapids. As always, a spectacular afternoon of riding.

Swapping over tires in the living room is just plain cool.[IMG]

Is Lex a rescue dog? That open water would scare me if riding alone.

    Dick is right......great photos:clap

In fact, Lex is a rescue dog. German Shepherd Rescue of Alaska. He hit the jackpot and lives a great life. He was dangerously close to death row. What makes you ask?......Oh, him rescue me? Maybe if I had a backpack full of jerky.

Open water is no danger. Don't ride into it. 99% of river ice is thick and solid. The sketchy stuff is pretty obvious, and I know the river pretty well. Safer than Minnesota Drive. Glad you like the photos.

Last weekend's fun through the lens of the helmet cam. I'm a novice video editor. Enjoy anyway.

Yesterday was the last day of 3 weeks of cloudless bluebird days! Capped off an epic streak of rides with an adventure into the tributary creeks of the Nenana Canyon. It was the coolest sh*t ever.

Thursday afternoon I hit Nenana Canyon tributary creeks. Bison, Antler, Fox, Iceworm and Kingfisher. Hope you like!

I wondered who would be creeking Bison Gulch in April. Once I linked to YouTube and saw your username, I understood! Had to be another Alaskan kayaker! Looks like a sweet day in the canyon! Love the ice studs! Thanks for sharing the footage.

Time to bump this one back to life. Why start a new thread? The rivers are freezing up better and more complete than what the past two winters threw my way. Thin snow cover only adds to accessibility. So far my only outings have been on the B Dub on trails and swamp ice. The KTM is getting ice tires mounted up and hot grips! Should hopefully be rolling this weekend. This is going to be good.

The best bike is a borrowed bike. Highly modified YZ450.

We are spiked up (my WR450 and the kid's YZ85) but just keep them on the lakes. Kolad Kutter Screws are too expensive to tear them up on the trails.
