    The 450 Desmo was my first "adult" bike, engine vibration was so bad it knackered the Smiths instruments on a regular basis,
    and eventually caused the battery to split open, dumping the acid all over the rear of the bike.
    The rear wheel spokes broke constantly, and the additional headlight was an attempt to get a modicum of night vision from
    the 6V electrics. Performance with the original exhaust and 29 mm carb was really poor, so looks were everything :-)
