Getting even better...
That’s just it. Great pics, but you risk sharing … your “special .. ‘spot’ …
Looking towards Hills
Lovely pork roast and grilled veggies on the fire.
Apple pie port and a good cigar, life ain’t too dire.
So, a nice (and yummy) secret camp spot on the north eastern shore of Slocan Lake. Sweet!
Yup. Presented to an exclusive group exclusively. Sector’s a go.
Accessed off the old rail grade or?
There is a road down from the highway starting at the blue flag on the map pic. Might be a problem if it’s very wet. Turn right on the old grade. There is another spot if you go to the left with a picnic table on a nice shingle beach.
It is also possible to come in from the old girl guides camp, go left at the mail boxes at the start of Bonanza rd.
Those old girl guides must be in their eighties now so your call.
I for one absolutely appreciate those that share on this thread, I have been in the Kootenay's my entire life except a short stint in Edmonton for school. I have been an outdoor person from day one yet I am still enthused and surprised by how many of the places posted here I haven't seen. Getting to a new spot regardless of how popular it is still thrills me, yah it's more fun to believe you are the only person to ever ride, ski or hike there, but thanks to those that share. Every spot is on my list now.
This one is probably easy, but I'm starting to run low. The photo is older, but the road looked the same in 2019 when I was there last.
Pretty warm, but not American Creek.
Is there a small pond below on the right?
You sure? I’m 99.9% that’s up the American Creek road
Is this American Creek Rd? If so, I haven't been up it. If not, please show which road you mean.
No that’s unnamed. American creek is right by Gerrard. The photo you posted is 100% up the American creek road. It’s the switchback I’ve tagged here.
You're right (of course). I thought that road was called Trout Lake East FSR . Thanks again for setting me straight! So, it goes to @Ymirtrials .
Damn, I'm going to be busy the next couple of summers finding all these places.
