I think you meant to say across the road from Gerrard
Yah the fish observing thingy
Yuppers, downtown Gerrard. Right beside the bridge across the Lardeau river, just below where it drains out of Trout lake, where the Gerrard Rainbow spawn in a short section of river before Mobbs creek joins it downstream around the corner and introduces silt. Used to be a railroad ending here, and at one time the largest steam powered sawmill in BC. Now nothing standing save one log cabin. One of my favourite rides, but then I'm biased.
So you’ve been there?
My turn then should be an easy one
Looks like Sheep creek valley on the cascade highway west of Rossland.
Yeah, I live down the road in Argenta, at the north end of Kootenay lake. A favourite loop when needing to blow out the cobwebs is run up the Lardeau, along Trout lake, down to Nakusp and New Denver then over the hill to Kaslo and up the lake again.
yup, all yours
did they re-open the trout lake road, we got turned around last week
Where did you get turned around and why?
The road was flooded between Howser and Gerrard, not sure exactly where. We were stopped by highway maintenance before we got there and told to turn around no one was getting through, this was on Friday. We went back to Nakusp and home through Burrell creek which is always a pleasant ride
No chance that I could guess where @SSPhoto took that shot. Just wanted to say that his photos are stunning. Thanks to all the contributors to the thread so far. I'm coming from Ontario to ride BC for a couple of weeks in September and have been adding all of these locations to BaseCamp for planning. Biggest problem, with the photos and BC routing in general, seems to be most of them are on out and back tracks. Really looking forward to seeing at least some of these places in person.
