If by 95% of the riders you mean 1% of the posters, I agree with you.

I will admit I bought a BMW after watching LWR. I then found out that it is the most comfortable , fun bike I had in a long time. I am on my second GS and have put between 8000 and 10000 miles on them a year since 2007.
Do I ride to Africa or Russia? Nope , I like sleeping in my nice memory foam bed... I guess I am in the 80% that don't ride.
That said I think LWR was great and LWD was good till Ewans wife got there... I will never do that ride so it is fun to go along with them.

Horrendously misleading journalism here about Ewan's next bike trip:

More importantly. KTM failed in their marketing.

I'm sure this is used as an example in a business course somewhere

It wasn't marketing until Ewan and Charlie made a successful TV series from their adventure - and I don't suppose BMW had any input past providing the bikes (and an option to do the same for any subsequent adventure I'm sure.)

The KTM guy who turned them down is probably still strung up by the nuts somewhere in the back of a closet at KTM HQ.

Someone watched the video on the Guzzi site.

I have serious doubts about the authenticity of this news.

I'm going to have to agree with the Fad part about ADVRiding. It has the spotlight now. The spotlight seems to bounce from Sportbikes, Cruisers, Sport Tourers and now Dual SPorts. Tons of options

Agreed. The reporter clearly had a quick look at the Guzzi video, conflated some facts and jumped to the wrong conclusion. Typical of modern journalism really.

You're identity is becoming very clear by your post here and the "crappy adv bike market thread". Your identity appears to rhyme with "Glass pole".

You're an ADV rider. Never question yourself or your motives when confronted by a Glass Pole. He lives in The Basement and Jo Momma and is NEVER wrong....

Holy Hell, ain't that the truth right there! Like either fact matters fuck all to what anyone is discussing.
