Nice loop and great pics!
I thought for sure you guys would get soaked with all the rain we had in I.F
sorry I didn't make the ride with you!
Maybe next time
Great stuff!! I'll be in this area in a few weeks and I'll be stealing lots of your ideas Thanks for posting up!
Well, PM me if you're in the neighborhood. Bunch of places I haven't gone on accounta they're pretty lonesome for a lone geezer. An extra gun hand might be useful as well...
Will do. looks like some great riding (and maybe shooting ). I'll pm you my info and touch base when I'm closer to yer neck of the woods.
Count me in. My second favorite activity (after dirt riding of course) is shooting
Great pix. We went through in July, on our way to LoLo. Some really great scenery and riding. We didn't have the time to explore enough. So gotta make it back there next year.
Finally found some .41 mag ammo. 265g buffalo bore. Gonna hurt me almost as much as the recipient.
I bet! I bought some Buffalo Bore .44 once (when I was in AK) :eek1
I have a friend in Boise who's a .41 fanatic. You want me to see if he has some he's wiling to sell? I bet he has several thousand put away.
Weather finally pursuaded me to weeble on. Didn't go on a grand loop like I was planning due to time constraints. Basically east from Idaho Falls via Kepps Crossing to Skyline Road (eastern side of little loop -great view of the Tetons) along a high ridge and down to Brockman Road. Thence via McCoy creek and Alpine. Then along Grey's River with a side trip to the Little Grey's River road and camp at mile 34. The next morning up McDougal Gap road to view unexplored Wyoming country - probably next year. Back down and retrace to Idaho Falls. The west side of the little loop is the Dan Creek road.

Skyline Road - Grand Teton on right side...
To McCoy Creek
Grey's River Road
Up the Little Grey's River
Back down to the big Grey's River
And the to the camp site.
Dinner using my little Zip Stove. C battery blower and can burn twigs, pine cones, and whatever. Very light and lots of heat.
An incredible amount of gnats swooping in the trees. They never got down to ground level though...
In the morning it was way below freezing and the meadow next to the campground had so much frost it looked like it had snowed.
One thing about camping on the open range is that if there are any bears around, what bruin in his right mind would choose a 66 year old piece of goat meat over a nice slab of beef after a fat summer grazing...
Then pack up and go exploring.
McDougal Gap Road.
Turn around at a side road that needs inspection next year.
Back down the Gap.
Down the river and back to McCoy Creek.
Dan Creek Road
And back to Idaho Falls
This thread is full of great pics. Thanks for sharing. Idaho looks incredible.
Nice! Bummer I had to work.
One thing I forgot to mention. After almost 1,000 miles of Idaho dirt, finally saw another bike coming down the road. Greys river road. Hauling ass. Prolly a KLR. A belated high five to whoever ya are. I know, yer supposed to sneer and point at the ground....
Kinda sad. With all the great ADV roads I wonder why... or why not. Then see all the bare nikked folks riding monsters up and down the boulevard.
Kinda eyeballing the desert mountains south of Burley. Anybody prowled there?
The family and I left Idaho Falls 19 months ago. The family is back and I return, permanently, this Friday.
The pictures from your trips have me pretty damn excited about going home.
