    Thanks for the info Q.

I wondered if they would tire of continuing this long running rodeo. The planning is monsterous I'm sure even though Doc has done it a bunch of times now. Hope they can get rejuvenated so they'll be willing to do another installment.

Actually. The Doctor loves planning these trips.
He loves doing the Ride Reports.
The hardest part is the actual trips itself. :lol3

    Hang in there everybody...

You guys are amazing; your travels are envied. I am starting to plan a partial TAT (2 week) for next year.

Question about your gear. I see you wear Motoport mesh. I too have drunk the Motoport Koolade. It's great stuff. Did you find it to be too hot / heavy? I find that it is a great dirt collector. Did you keep all the armor in it?

    Thanks and keep going

A few weeks back, I was able to get back out to 3 Step for another visit.

My timing was perfect, as the weather was great, and Doc Rock and LDF were there doing some riding with Dingweeds.

We all spent the first evening talking over one of Scott and Julie's great home cooked meals. The next morning I headed out for a Solo ride over to Moab to do a big section of Longs Canyon, Pucker Pass, and out beyond Schaffer's Trail.

The Second day, Scott guided Doc, LDF and me through a great 80 mile loop over and around the 3 Step area. A great mix of hard pack gravel, speedy open areas, and of course some steep rocky downhills and Sand! Gotta' have some sand!!

It was three days of great riding, wonderful food, interesting conversation, and lots of laughs. And, I earned my own official set of "Anti-Hassle Tassels"! And they are awesome!!

It was my first time to meet David and Francine, and as you would expect, they are great people!

As usual, Scott and Julie did a fantastic job of making sure that everyone was comfortable, and never hungry or thirsty.

Thank you Scott, Julie, Francine and David for the best 3 days I have had in a long time!

Sorry for the extreme delay in the pick up. It's funny you should ask about the motoport gear. I have been looking to replace my pants that have finally bit the dust after eight years. Indeed they look like they have been through a lot which they actually have. They do collect dirt and dust and the like. I have washed them with tech gear but even that doesn't break through the grime anymore. The replacement is needed because the pant leg zipper finally broke; the pants are no longer on warranty.

I actually am looking for an identicle replacement pair which should speak volumes for my fondness of them. I like the fact that I can have light pants underneath for easy on and off at the beginning and end of the riding day. I have found them to be comfortable in all weather. If it's raining or temp cold I do have a pair of mammoth rain gear pants that I slip over top. I do not use the liners that you can get with them as I don't find the logic in having to remove your gear in the middle of a rain storm to put the liners in the pants.

I haven't worn the jacket in a few years as it has been replaced by a Klim jacket with lots of pockets for accessories. I did find the jacket a little stiff and more difficult to maneuver my upper arms around. I hope this helps.

Those are fight n roosters. If they are not tethered, they would fight and kill each other, so they remove them when taken to fight somewhere.

    Hey Doc,

On page #5171 you show a historical marker with info about a trip in 1860 that was 18 miles traveled by teams of horses. I have noticed you are pretty good about searching facts, so how did they measure distance traveled in 1860? My guess is time start to finish is known by horse back and teams, flat ground vs mt. travel?

    Enjoying your RR. :clap
