At least one group of Pioneers used a crude odometer they made, which counted wagon wheel revolutions. The ones with the odometer were early Mormon (Latter Day Saint) people.

That's the same method used today by many car companies. Thanks for telling me the LDS came up with the idea. They probably had one of the wives leaning out of the wagon counting the revolutions of the front wheel.:rofl Wiki didn't have this information.

Took me two weeks but finished the RR. I am truly inspired. Just ordered some Tassels today....one day I will have them blessed by you guys and turn them into Anti-Hassell Tassels.....hoping the cute (female) neighbor will pay more attention to me after I get them installed :lol3

Glad you and Scott liked the report. After 10 years of shuffling between Moab and The Monument Valley areas, I now realize there is a lot of great riding in between. I am already making plans to get back out to 3 Step for my next adventure:D.

And you're right, making great memories is what it's all about!

    Ride Safe,

Those are fighting roosters. Tethered so they won't fight and kill each other.

I put the EVO2 tanks on it----from Rally Raid.
It's actually 2 tanks that replace the plastic side panels---they gravity feed into the stock tank.
Gives me about 5.8 gallons total. On paper I can go over 300 miles---but after riding it a lot I haven't yet got it down that low to test it.
Something sexy about 3 gas tanks !!!!!!

Nice and slim ---and the wolfman enduro tankbag goes right between the gas caps.

Nah, just on hiatus -- our last Mobius in June was a little more mellow from NYC to Chattanooga on our big bikes. In September we'll bring 'em the rest of the way to 3-step in UT. The photos from June are still on the cameras. :augie I imagine I'll get to posting it eventually, but I fear it's just more of the same -- kick ass adventure riding and camping in north american back country. :thumb

Just finished reading through it for the third time since... maybe... 2012? I know Doc sent me his packing list and I may have a post on here from a few years ago. I was lucky to be so far behind the trip, that I could read for months before catching up.
Leaving for Escalante and Bryce Friday eve for the week. Four of us on nothing bigger than a 450 Berg. Camping near Donkey Res on a north loop and Alstrom Point on a south loop with some other canyon trails thrown in for good measure. I tried to have the group swing by 3 Step, but I don't know if its in the cards. Maybe some day. I'm gonna try to take some pictures with a Fuji P&S instead of my phone and see how it goes.
These trips have been very inspirational to say the least. I'll thank you again for taking the time and sharing. You still have the background on my work dual screens and my laptop at home.
    Ride safe.

Lol, I've got a Doc Rock background pic too! Alaska!

I didn't even know about the TAT before I started reading the Mobius Trip.

Thanks to the Doc I've parked the street bike, picked up a KLR and I am having a blast.

    Rock on!
