With the arrival of the UK goodies, I decided to brave the freezing temps and wind today. It actually snowed here this morning, but it was gone by the time I started just before noon. Still damn cold though.

    Started with this -

Stripped off all the broken, cobbed, bent stuff and put it next to the UK goodies -

    Then got busy! :lol3

The sun actually peeked out for a minute. This was after a quickie test ride to warm up the transmission oil. Note the latest addition to the Brewuts Scuderia behind it -

Wait, are we going to try and change the tranny oil?? :yikes

    Yes!

Oh my, how to get to the impossible to touch filler plug? I didn't. Took Motobene's advise from some posts back and ... :evil

Yup, laid 'er on 'er side and refilled the tranny from the drain hole!! :wings

I spent a couple hours riding it around the yard just for fun. I may take it to SanYo tomorrow for the same reason, since I just ordered the footpeg brackets for my 4RT. Paint for the seat, tank and front fender will have to wait until it warms up, but in the meantime I'm jazzed!! :rayof I'm thinking some cool period-correct stickers will be in order as well. Better start researching now, it'll be warm soon. I hope.

    Dammit I'm freezing!! :vardy :bluduh

    More to come! :thumb

2 GPz', actually. The 550 is not in the pic. :D

3 Dodge trucks, and a Plymouth Duster. You also forgot the Dodge Aspen station wagon. Get it right!! :dirtdog

They are on the back porch, along with a 340 block. :lol3

Yosemite wanted a "turn" in the parking lot -

Wound up running a tank of fuel through it today. Ready to go home -

Hmm, maybe it's time to replace the (at least) 10-year old tires?? :lol3

Great day today. Big bike, tall, pegs too high, revs very slow, steers slow with the rake, yet has a ridiculous turn radius. All in all still a nifty old Montesa.

Beauty bits to come when it's warmer! :thumb

    Awesome, Patriot color scheme?
Hard to tell if its purple or dark blue.
Anyway looks great and I hope it serves you well.

The tank was the awful purple that was popular then. It has been scuffed in preparation for paint. Red paint that will go on the seat plastic as well, I've no desire to match the awful color scheme it had originally. :arg

Thanks! It's fun so far, no matter what Line says. :lol3

He won in `96. You really think he did on that fat 314? That looks like a 314.75!
