Ed Zachary! We own vintage iron and it isn't much fun in traffic. Much better when you have the road to yourself.

Got to see the bikes in Kennewick yesterday, incredible.
Went with a group from Pullman and ended up on the route of the riders. Ended up getting to see about 20 at a fuel stop and about 20 more on the road. Very cool. Tried not to bother them too much on the road. Some sounded like chitti chitti bang bang and one with a wicker top side car sounded like something Live2Ride would like, slapping you with sound about 40 yards back.
Many thanks to all of the riders for allowing all the questions and photographs.
I was able to find out about the bike with my grandfather in the only photo I have of him.
    It was a 1911-1913 Indian.
I can tell a 15 and later from the 11-14 now

Took a longer way home and had dinner at the Oasis. Very nice.
Rattlesnake grade (up) at sunset was about as good as it gets.

Missed the meet-up but the three of us were there after riding around Hood on Abbot and CDR on SAT/SUN. If you saw three dualsports loaded up with gear parked with the others, that was us.

Was thankful the finish got delayed as we arrived about 10mins ahead of the riders!

I was hoping for more motorcycle pictures, I was in Oregon Saturday and saw all of those people. :)

I was there in Kenniwick early so got to see almost all of them come in but the big camera ran out of juice ( forgot the extra battery) and had to use the phone . Quite a few bikes had LED in the old light cases.

One was really cute but quite old enough for this event. Onions were being harvested and as usual they were all over the edge of the road. Thought about picking some up . I know people who live in Kenniwick and part of their food canning each year is gleaning the roads when the corn, carrots, onions, and such are being harvested and it spills out of the trucks.

Another Big THANK YOU to all of the riders that let us watch the event and them.

It was nice seeing everyone and seeing all the bikes and riders was super cool. I haven't been able to get through my pictures yet and probably won't for a while since I'm on a two week vacation to WI. If I time it right I might be able to connect with Doug and Polly in Sturgis when they drop off the Cannonball truck. Then when in WI I'm going to Doc's Harley Davidson. Doc is the guy riding the wicker sidecar rig. Checkout the website: https://www.docshd.com/ - His shop is incredible. Doc's daughter also rode the Cannonball on #53.

Here are a few photos I grabbed from facebook done by Loud Al.

Doug got a picture of Polly and I. Polly is his girlfriend who is from Bulgaria. She is just as much fun as he is and very much an Adventurer. The last two years she has ridden her 2007 Triumph Scrambler as sweep for the Cannonball and gets up early every morning of the Cannonball to make sure the roll charts are ready for the days route and helps get them to the riders. Then the end of the day she makes sure no bikes are out stranded along the side of the road. She's amazing.

There is another gal on the ride as well, Vicki, she is an RN and is an EMT for the ride. She does first aid training for the staff, like Polly, that are along to ensure all is going well. There sure is a lot that goes into all this.

My group rode the CBDR 22/23rd, and hustled up just in time to see them all drive in to Skamania Lodge. Quite a nice treat for my birthday!
I'm not the most educated when it comes to motorcycle lore, but it was still fascinating that you could actively see how people during the era were coming up with technological breakthroughs.
Ideas like "Well, the front wheel is a bit harsh, so what if we borrow the idea of leaf springs from my car and stick it on the top of the front fork?", which led to a guy thinking, "what if I put a hydraulic cannister up there instead of those leafs?"
I also commented about how we are caught up in discussions on hard luggage vs. soft, Giant Loop vs. Wolfman vs. Mosko... yet to spite our hand wringing, one of those old bikes was fixed up with a laquerd wood box, and another with a steel lunchbox!

My favorite was a the Ner-a-car. The rider was fantastic to listen to, and it's a very interesting bike. Did anyone get photos? I have one that isn't very good...

I didn't get any this year, except maybe in the finish-line video. But, I got a few in 2014, in Tacoma.

Here's a few from this year. I like this one with the google eyes that make me giggle. The black circles roll around when the bike is moving.
