You getting close yet? I want to do the suspension on the Strom this spring. Wilbers I think. After all the talk from Heli. Maybe I should come out and take his for a ride and see. :lol3

Oh and I got some stuff I need powder coated. How that guy out there? Have any dealing with him? I talked to the guy in Anchorage and he seemed pretty wishy washy about what I wanted.

Troy.... go see Vaaaalter (Walter) at Advanced Powder Coating. Just this side of the Big Lake turnoff. Left side of the Parks as you're heading north.
He did all the work on BigBird plus a bit of farkle on Katoomer's 1150.
    Excellent work and decent prices.
    Tell him I sent you.......shouldn't cost you much more! :lol3 :lol3 :lol3

    Thanks Fite.

Heli I dont remember did you just replace the springs or did you go for the shock too? They were Wilbers right? Looked into the stock spring and found out there rated for a 130 lbs dude. I can :topes 130 lbs! :lol3 May be the reason I need a new skid plate already.

Friar didnt answer the question. Whens the first sermen at the Abby? Hope that plumbing is sound!

    :wave Friar... yup, that Wee.
(note: I turned out all the shock preload for winterizing; the pic w/ Friar on it would look a lot different if it had 2-3 lines of preload wound back in.)

Troy: I got the Wilbers fork springs and a shock spring that they selected. They use a detailed survey and select your spring based on the criteria; they hit the bullseye.
I kept the OEM shock as I felt that it works well and I only had 3-4K miles when I got the Wilbers spring. It should work just fine until 15-20K, especially since the proper spring saves the shock a lot of abuse. When this one wears out, I'll gladly get a full Wilbers shock system. PM Ilmostro for a very happy shock solution; he has 'em on his R1200GS and says they're just as good as Penske or Ohlins and co$t le$$.

All told, it took one phone call, <$250, three days of shipping from Connecticut, and three shop hours to get 'em installed. MAJOR mo' bettah. :nod

Well just past the 15K mark before putting it away last summer. Ill have to see about that. Just who is "Ilmostro"? Doesnt sound familiar. At that price I may just pony up for the whole package!
