KBB values '18 RS at $10.4-14K...
With cash-back BMW offers on brand new R1250RSs, getting $17K for used '18 may be beyond wishful thinking - GLWS
I’m shocked to see you’re willing to sell!
Almost certainly not selling, just researching if its even an option. I love the bike!
I added 4590.00 in farkles to my 16r1200rs. Denali d2's; B6 aux brake lights, aeroflow fairing flairs, aeroflow headlight protectors, Ztechnik light tint medium height screen, Wunderlich fairing bags, sw motech 9 liter tank bag and tank ring, rear fender from Europe [ unavailable in US, but had someone help me getting one here from England ], tank pad protector, Denali controller for the front running lights and rear brake lights, Corbin one piece saddle, Weiser led turn signals
My ‘16 RS on this year’s tour:
what top box is that sir?
That is the 30 liter BMW top case in Granite Grey. I ordered it from Sierra BMW. I re-keyed it to my bike key myself.
Thanks, I'm running the bmw 30-35L soft top case, yours just looks bigger volume in the picture. Thanks
I did 350 km 2-up yesterday, and 600 km solo today on my 1250RS.
Man, I love this bike!
I nicknamed it "my magic carpet ride" to myself, as it was just eating up the km's....
I've heard good and bad about Hill Start Assist - I just use the rear brake on hills. If a car in front of me rolls back, I don't want to have to try and remember how to cancel the assist...
If going for Driving Modes Pro, I'd opt for ABS Pro as well - being able to emergency brake in a corner might be a good thing, and the ABS is pretty unobtrusive on these. I have DTC/ABS Pro, and love the DTC options, haven't needed the ABS yet. Activated it once at a training course. (If your brakes aren't already linked, you will notice that the link system prefers that you let it handle the rear when braking with the front...)
Good point re the hill hold....
After over four years of ownership, my bike suffered it’s first failure: the c-clip that retained the foot peg to its mount jumped ship and the pin started to come out. I have a box full of c-clips at home, but I’m out on the road. I’m sure glad that my CruzTools BMW-specific toolkit had some stainless tie wire within...I might safety wire the other peg pre-emptively!
Better sell it. Damn bike is falling apart - that Consumer Reports survey was right !
I was pretty happy I went with the BMW case when I bought my 2XL Shoei RF1400. My other helmets fit in the left side case, but the RF1400 only fits in the top case.
I been happy with the GS mudguard.
I wouldn’t have thought it, but that doesn’t look bad…
Yeah, I'm surprised that it's centered as the wheels won't interchange
But it does look pretty good, so does the rest of the bike. As much as I detest top boxes, that one looks pretty good too
I got this rear fender from ebay Australia
That's the same rear fender I had sent to me by a bloke in England. On my last trip, that fender kept the 30L top case pretty much clean of slung road grime when encountering days of heavy rain. I'm quite happy with the way mine looks and performs
It's unlikely that mud guard is centered - just the way the picture is taken...
RS has 5.5" wide wheel vs. 4.5" on GS so the mud guard won't cover entire width of RS tire. Unless you put narrower wheel off of GS on RS...
