lake ain't big enuff, but I'm feeling someplace on that side of the world. The scraggely trees and stubby grass on hard rocks have me wondering. Mountains blending into clouds in the far horizon don't lend any clues.

Looking at the horizon you might be whistling Dixie.

^^I can't see what is on the desk in front of me my brother,,much less see and regognicize a distant mountain peak,,but that is what I always go for in this thread, look for mountains to see if I know where I am,,,the klamath marsh thing was a frikken joke for a klamath boy, but I liked it,,AND,,I got it right,,ducks and geese!,I said it, and I meant it!

Camp 14,,whorehowser, 1967,,camp 9 way up out of Bly, Gearhart Mtn, and over towards Paisley, pronghorns, elk and bear,,deer everyfuckingwhere! Mitchell monument,,BOOM!
Good time to be a dirt riding young fool,,Silver Lake,,,a six pack away! Who can we get to buy beer for us?

All those roads are paved with asphalt now,,it was all dirt from Bly to Paisley,,ride to the Chee-wah-can and catch trout!,,you may have to wade in the river a bit.
As a punk teenager, bike hoodlum,, I grew up in Oregon's paradise, let's ride down to the Sycan and sit on the cliff and watch the beavers swim around.
Then we can ride into Beatty and find some Indian to buy us beer or a bottle of booze,,then we'll ride to,,,,anydamnwhere we wanted to. I'm 16/17 with an attitude, a paying job, and a dirty old bike!

Figured this is a reply rather than a guess, but nonetheless Bly is over 300 miles away. Yes you should go to Oregon. The SE part is a big treat if you like the desert. It’ll be green and the wildflowers will be blooming early June. You won’t be able to ride the Steens Mountain loop yet(snow) but there’s still plenty to explore.

So again, name the body of water below and the mountain we’re on (closest peak or range anyways). I’ve dropped 3 hints now.

Looking in the distance if you’re not whistling Dixie you might be singing the Blues.

I’m not even looking at the picture, but I’ll throw some random shit out based on the OP’s locale... Probably not Dixie Butte out of Prairie City, so I’m gonna say the wide spot known as Dixie just up the road from Huntington. The Blues could be the mountains of the same name, or the water, but that would be the Burnt River.

    Sometimes the shotgun approach works!!

Red hot poker is right there. You can almost grab it. But me thinks you’re gonna have to go find a map to give the correct answers brother.

I’ll let some other inmates digest all those clues and dig out the cartography for now! I’m in the shop, elbow deep in a smoky yellow crank rebuild...

You're are on Big Lookout Mtn. in the Lookout Mtn range overlooking the Powder River at Richland, OR. Dixie, OR is south of you and in the Distance is the Blue Mountains.

You were both too far east. Second guess a bit to far south as well and would be looking NNE. I’m looking SSW in the photo.
