    Wheels are finally turning.
Shouldn't we switch to the main thread?

Very good point and well put.
    Pressure cooker is on.

Except that I don't care about Terranova Pendejo feelings. :D

Laughing to myself at my calculations

So SS kicks off at 0750hrs local time (+ 7hrs = 1450hrs Dubai)

too old is expecting 2.5hrs (average 70km/h on soil)

therefore first bikes are likely at the finish 1020hrs local (+ 7hrs = 1720hrs Dubai time) therefore will likley be on the way home from work :rolleyes

Cars are starting 1050hrs local time. Probably faster on tracks so can expect first one in at just after noon local time (+ 7hrs = 1900hrs Dubai time) therefore will likely be having dinner :1drink

One last pre-race update on the dakar fantasy game:

I've been informed that some of you (especially those signing up from @hotmail.com) didn't get the activation email or went to bulk/spam folder. I've now activated your accounts manually so you should be able to login and create your team (if a stage is in progress you will have to wait until the end of the stage though...). And again, thanks all for joining!

See ya on the leaderboard, royle :1drink

    So I'm bored :rofl

The race has begun, maybe not the race we follow but make no mistake the liaisons are a big part of the Dakar. +4500 km of road riding on a dirt bike is nothing to laugh at.

So right now the streets and highways are lined with millions of spectators and the racers and support crews are likely being mobbed at intersections. Racers are lined up at the DSS, some likely shitting themselves with self doubt and fear. The elite are getting in the zone and planning their strategies on their heads. Thousands of support crew members and hundreds of trucks are heading down the highway to the first bivouac...

    Damn...wish I was there :nod

07:21 : 161 motorcycles on the start line
American Tony Gera wasn't cleared to take part in the 37th Dakar, which means there'll be 161 riders starting the rally in Buenos Aires. They'll be followed by 45 quads, 137 cars and 63 trucks.

That reduces the US contingent - I wonder what went wrong there?
