    I just bought a 2001 SR50 Ditech with 9,800 miles...runs great.
I am 240 lbs. an this will go 47 mph...is this a record?
I rode it for about 20 minutes and the injection check light came on blinking with just about all codes set...still ran great.

Is this a warning of battery's last days?

I cleared codes ( let codes run through four blink cycles). Thirty minute ride today and all is still AOK.

Aprilia early warning system for low voltage or more?

    Any help is great...

Just bought a 2000 sr50 carb in black.
Needs a bit of tlc, but runs great.
    I also have a 2001 Ditech...now we can race!
    These are great scooters.
I sold my 2001 BMW R1100S and this is more fun...?
Do yourself a favor and buy one.
I will let you know which one is faster.
    Photos to follow.

I have put about 200 miles on both sr50's and I can say without reservation. Go buy an Aprilia. Fast, smooth and handles great.
Put on Michelin SC tires and go have some fun.

Yes, they are a blast... very stable in all conditions.

But no, 47 is hardly a record

Lots of mods available to get you well into the 50's (at 50cc). My 70cc can go to the end of the dial.

Check out apriliaforum.com under the DiTech section if you haven't already!

If you throw it off a cliff it should top out around 130mph.:lol3

But otherwise that sounds like the right speed for a good running 70cc. Was that GPS mph or indicated?

[IMG]I have 2 2000 SR50 scooters. Both have factory racks and top boxes. Both have factory side stands. Both have factory locks that plug onto frame. 1 has rear pegs. Both have Pipes and clutch kits. 1 has 7000 miles 1 has 2000 miles. Both will do 50 mph +. Both are stock bore and have 12 mm Delorto carbs. Both run perfect. Also have a 2003 ZUMA with 1400 miles with a Leo Vinci Chrome pipe that is perfect. Not a mark on it. Top speed of 48 on GPS. I don't need to sell these but I do need the space. All are stored inside and batteries removed and on tenders. What will these bring?

I decided my next bike will be a sr50. Any major flaws? I hear the fuel injected models can be somewhat unreliable. I plan on putting lots of miles on in running around the city and would like to know that it will stand up to my abuse since i'll be looking at around $1500 for a used one locally.

No major problems. In fact no problems at all. The lunar yellow has 7400 miles on it and the black has 2000. I believe the carb ones are the ones you want.
