Hmm, have you verified the fuel level in the float bowl? I wouldn't expect any severe wear in your carb at 7,000 miles. I assume it starts easily when warm also.

New float, just put it in!
    Starts great when warm.

    Thanks,

That's all the more reason to check the fuel level if you haven't.

Has anyone installed the Nibbi Racing PWK30 carb? Gradually turning my 1999 tutu in to a vintage enduro. 87FA3798-E32E-4CA0-A8BC-048565E242CA.jpeg

It looks to be a well kept bike. But it’s 27 years old.
Seems like you could find a much newer bike for the same money. :hmmmmm

Like getting a brand new bike for less!!
Mint except for the unsightly front fender.
Graphics are perfect, except the one pealing off.
Just like new except for the 27 yr. old everything and the 18,000 plus miles.
Cool bike and he might get close to price, who knows, but the salesman blah, blah, blah sucks!
Not on my watch, give me a break!!

    James and Colleen,
Nice seeing you at VBOC on Sunday.
James, great looking bike, but I think you can find another spot to drill a few more holes!
    Enjoy Baja,
    Adios.

Whooh! At 18K milage there could be all kinds of internal wear that just happens. Sixth gear, cam lobes, starter clutch & other stuff. These things just happen even with the best of care.

IIWM, I would either add another $600 and buy a new XT 250, or get one with lower price and less mileage and put the difference into that bike. That way you would know what you have and it would be set up your way.

Exactly, he's basing his crazy price on the fact that its one of the first models, theres a much cleaner 2002 for sale right now with 2k miles for $2,500 asking price, i was just surprised how clean it looks for that type of milage, but its probably 99% street used.

BTW, i think they were $3,499 brand new in 1994 :jack

I suspect he will be keeping that bike for a little longer.

Mine only has 13K miles, must be worth much more.

Fuel injection XT250 for that kind of money. My buddy bought one for $3850 with 83 miles.

Seat height could be an issue for some riders.
